Homebrew Can't play MDK2 and Shadow of the Ninja on Wii

I installed the .wad files using Wad manager 1.7 but when I ran the channel, the screen went black forever. What should I do ?

Maybe you miss some IOS needed to run those games.
Also make sure games are the same region as your Wii.

My Wii and the games are the same region - US. I have no idea which IOS I should use, I just used the default IOS 249.

For installing this does not matter as long your installation is error free.

Every Wii game needs some part of the Wii system.
These little parts are called ios. These contain instruction sets to enable the game to run.
Multiple games can use the same installed ios.
If you do not have the ios that is needed by the game, your game will not work.
To get these file your can either update your Wii ( probably need to reinstall cios etc. after this ), or even better use modmii to get these ios files and install them via a wadmanager.
