4258-mega_man-25th_anniversary.jpg

December 17th marked the 25th anniversary of the original release of the Blue Bomber. To commorate this date Capcom has released Street Fighter X Mega Man, a new platformer that features various Street Fighter characters as bosses. Capcom also announed today that they will release all 6 original NES Mega Man titles to the 3DS eShop, with the first title appearing for download on December 27. Team Reaverbot has given us something as well today, a demo for their new Mega Man Homebrew. The demo features the full Bio Man stage and a fight with Tarot Man. Be sure to check it out!

While you are enjoying some new Mega Man experiences, let us know what the Blue Bomber means to you. Tell us what Mega Man games you own or share some photos of your collection.

look at my signature! :toot:

Here is my mega-check list:

Megaman Classic: beated 1 - 6 on the NES and 9 on the Wii.
I have to beat 7, 8 (that I plan on doing it on the 8 bit demakes for pc) and 10
I never played any of the Game Boy ones, are they any good?

Megaman X: never had the chance to play the X series until I got to emulation. So I never beated any of those games yet.

Megaman Zero: beated them all on my GBA!

Megaman Battle Network: same as Zero.

Others: I played Megaman ZX but never finished it
Never touched Star Force and Legends

I loved all the Mega man games, but I especially loved Mega man Battle Network. When I was little I was not allowed a Gameboy so I would go round to my friends house and we would play Megaman their windows 95 pc :D, I've clocked all the games battle network games at least 3X each, clocking 1 the most at around 5X, (clocking meaning getting everything)
I remember a horrible bug in MMBN6 where a store closed after you clock the game so if you did not have some of the chips from that shop there was no way to collect all the chips. Had to restart my save from scratch after getting every other chip >< (other than some of the chips in graveyard area that i could not get because of the bug)

AND gotta mention that all the Megaman games have FANTASTIC MUSIC!!!

Might I add that my last MMBN6 save had 400+ hours of playtime

The first NES Megaman title looks fairly available already unless I'm missing something.

oh fuck me capcom, thanks for giving me yet another chance to pay a 3rd time for your old games. I expect the games to be slightly more expensive than on the wii, after all, I'm allowed to carry them around with me now, and that should be paid extra. and you will release all of that over the course of the next year? how damn generous of you, that gives me the time to save for it, genius.
don't forget to add wily's castle as download content. and better yet, give us the weapons to buy with micropayments. its obvious you can beat the whole game with just the megabuster. and honestly, I was sick of being forced to beat a robotmaster just to get his weapon.
happy anniversary

While most grew up with mario or zelda, I pretty much grew up with Mega Man.

I didn't own too many of them, but rented most of them even back in the NES era.

Played 1-4 back on the original console... 5 and 6 weren't really available for rental, ever. 7 on the SNES... only one I didn't play on the original console of the classic series was 8 on either Saturn nor PlayStation. Of course I played through them on the MMAC on PS2. Then I got and beat 9 & 10 on the Wii.

I played X 1-3 on the SNES... wasn't even aware there was X4-7 until the X collection came out.

Mega Man legends 1 was... notbad.png As far as 2D to 3D transitions, it was easily one of the better ones for characters at the time. Sadly, never could get my hands on a real copy of MML2.

Never really tried any of the battle network series. The original GB MM games were also interesting. I did own 2 on that one. Each was an odd mixture of two of the NES games. SO the first MM was a mixture of 1 & 2 on NES, and the second entry on the Game Boy was a mix of 2 & 3.

I never was able to get my hands on any of the Mega Man Zero games, either. That's not from lack of wanting though... more like eternal lack of funds. :(

I did manage to get and play through MM ZX, and just felt like it was "meh."

Really, I was just mostly happy to see MM 9 return, and then 10. STILL ticked off they cancelled MML3 altogether. But these two releases for PC have been a thankful thing.

"Never really tried any of the battle network series" You are missing out!
But I guess battle network is not for everyone, its like a mix of RPG and Card Trading Games
Try it out some time!

The card aspect already kills it right there.

I have yet to play a game that employs a card system that hasn't made me come hate it for that very reason.

Aww, the cards are like your special attacks, you unlock cards related to the viruses you defeat (eg: Kill a metool, get a shock wave chip)
there are about 150+ cards in each game, and they all give you different attacks, such variety!
