I have a R4i 3DS card from r4ids.cn and it has the Metroid Game Demo Logo.
I have tried Both "i" and "l" versions of the update patch 145.
I get FAIL every time. I have tried it many times. Has anyone had SUCCEED with this type of card?
Does anyone know if this is being worked on or will ever be fixed?

Erm... your card is revision 9. The update patch won't work on your card since it is only for Rev C cards. Sorry...

I've got the same card but with a C in the far right corner and it doesn't work for me either. Also tried both and am currently at 4.3. Did you get it working RodrigoDavy?

I tried this, but to no avail. I've also got a Revision C model. I'm using the NDSi update (as it's the 3DS cart) but I'm updating it using an NDSL. Would this be the problem? Should I run the NDSL firmware update?

EDIT: Tried both and still no new progress.

Unfortunately, no... It seems that Rev C cards with Metroid icons are having problems with update, whereas they says Rev C cards with Kirby or Deep Labyrinthies can be updated normally.

Yeah. I gave it a shot as well but it didn't work. I think he just got lucky somehow.

Hmm. I've got the one with wings and the halo. Dorasu, I think it's called. Will I be able to update straight to 4.5 without updating to 4.4 first when a working patch comes out?

Also, probably a stupid question since if there was everyone would've done it but is there a way to update to the Kirby or Deep Labyrinth versions?

Wow, you were pretty rude! :P

I sure was. I'm tired of their shit. An update shouldn't be so damn complicated, it should just *work*. And without having to use a DS Lite, which I do not own. I don't expect the 3DS's DS mode to work flashing a cart, but a DSi should be sufficient. The DSi seems to be *the* Nintendo DS most everyone I know, has.

The whole DSL/DSI thing doesn't really matter, actually Any cart that can be updated on one can be updated on another, assuming the cart still runs. People with some can update and some can't not because of the DS, but because of the cart model.

The issue is there's multiple hardware models that ALL use the same revision number (C).

That's what I was afraid of. If there are multiple hardware models using revision C, that doesn't sound good for those that are waiting on an update, right? If the older revision C's had enough space to hold the extra data to get by the check, it wouldn't be hard to put out a patch that supports them. Could a flash cart maker put in enough space to hold an entire DS game's data and never be blockable?

Honestly I think they're just trying to make more money by making their latest cards the only compatible ones. This is just a guess but I'm thinking of switching over to supercard dstwo to avoid this in the future.

I bought my card in mid-July, so I'm sure I have an early model C card, because I checked the version above the gold contact, and it is indeed rev C. Just probably a first-gen rev C. Came with Dorasu Icon. Then I flashed it to Prince Caspian, and now it's the Metroid Demo icon.
