With the announcement of Dark Souls 2 being released on PS3, 360 and PC, fans of the series noticed that there was no announcement for WiiU. Why? It's a console that offers HD, has free online, the game could benefit from the GamePad, and it's a reasonably priced console. So why not?

Sure petitions hardly do anything these days. But they do do stuff. Without them, you people would have gotten to play Xenoblades or the Last Story, or even Dark Souls on the PC.

So if you want more games to play on your WiiU that could possibly be the definitive version, sign the petition. It currently has over 9000 signatures.

Honestly, I think the Wii U's gamepad could be a great fit for Dark Souls.

Now, you still control the game normally, as you would on any other console. There would be no gimmicky minigames using the touch screen or anything like that. HOWEVER, the gamepad would act as a camera, recording players as the game brings them to the breaking point. It will then upload these clips directly to a video channel, where the rest of the world can laugh at players' tears and vote on the best, most humiliating performances.

Now Dark Souls II (or Prepare to Cry Edition, as I hope it's called) could crush your spirit and self esteem like never before!

I really don't see any point putting it on the WiiU, so i'll pass on this petition.

I just hope they do better on the PC port this time so people don't whine so much over nothing.

People will whine over it based on it being most likely a PS3/Xbox 360 port to Wii U port (if it even comes to existence).

I doubt this will work. I mean it's A. a lot of work to properly port it and B. I seriously doubt it's going to increase the amount of sold copies by any significant amount.

Fans of the series may also notice they already have a console/PC that can play the game.

They could easily port the original game to the Wii U if they wanted to milk the cash cow a little more. Same goes for games like Mass Effect, WTB the first two games and save transfers because I am enjoying the Wii U version and don't want Origin shoved up my arse by EA to play it.

Really? I'd like to see sources on that.

Making it an eShop exclusive only would reduce shipment cost, but still I think "easily" is an understatement and "milk the cash cow" an overstatement.

My take on the issue? The developers will release the game for tried-and-true platforms while observing the WiiU, if adoption rate keeps up, they'll release an "Enhanced*" version later on, just like everybody else.

*"Enhanced" meaning "Possibly Broken Port Edition"

I am saying they could, not that they will. If they wanted to see what Dark Souls/Demon Souls reception would be like on the Wii U, they should port those games before deciding whether or not to make Dark Souls 2 for it. And by port it, I mean do it well and not bum rush it like that slop job that was Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition for the PC at release.

Do you need to install Origin if you buy ME1&2 from Steam?

Yes you have to have Origin installed to play them if you buy them from Steam, just like you have to have an Origin account in order to play Mass Effect 3 online on the Wii U.
Too bad you're wrong about Origin having to be installed for PC. I currently have 3 games from Origin, all of which are playable by *gasp* launching the game exe from the game folder. I find it interesting everyone bitches about Origin when you only need it to activate the games. Oh, except for games that came out before Origin, you can just use the license code it gives you and leave Origin completely out of it. Don't get me wrong, Origin is shit, but you don't need it to play most if not all of EAs games.
/Origin rant

As for Dark Souls 2 on the Wii U, I suppose it wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing, unless it's a shitty port.
