The charlatans known as Square Enix, are going to release Final Fantasy IV for about the twelfth time for iOS and Android. The iOS version will be available on December 20th with the Android version in early 2013. The Japanese price is 1800 yen so around £14/$20. The game is based off the DS version of the game (rather than the superior PSP version) with the kawaiii chibi art style with touchscreen controls and a casual feature so casual gamers will get their balls kicked. Will this be the final port of this game? Of course not it's Square Enix.

Since the DS version of III was already ported to iOS and Android, it was only a matter of time till they port IV too.

Last time I counted, there were around 17 different versions of Final Fantasy IV around.

This was about four years ago that I counted.

Sooner or later, they're going to port it to the N-Gage.

No, no, no, if anything, they're porting it to the Wonderswan Color...oh, wait. The DS version wasn't the best version, but the translation was better than the 1991 original.

damn, rather play ff5 after the much less attention it got

Oh, you mean how it had an original story, an excellent class/job system and how it's only been on two consoles* and one handheld system? That's okay, Square Enix forgot about that, too.

* The Playstation version was poorly emulated and was rife with Engrish. The GBA version had an excellent translation, but the Super Famicom version had superior audio.

Meh. Not that it's a bad game, but cmon. Can't they make ports of other games than III or IV? Show some love to V and VI.

We have ROM hacking for a reason- http://filetrip.net/gba-downloads/t...dvance-snes-sound-restoration-20a-f29426.html (similar patches available for 6- http://filetrip.net/gba-downloads/t...advance-snes-sound-restoration-10-f23436.html , and 4 http://filetrip.net/gba-downloads/t...y-iv-advance-sound-restoration-10-f30686.html http://filetrip.net/gba-downloads/t...advance-snes-color-restoration-10-f25446.html )

Anyway nice to meet some fellow FF5 aficionados.

Too bad those sound hacks aren't in stereo (which would be nice for emulators), but I digress. The hacker's logic is the GBA didn't output in stereo* "so why should this be in stereo" he said? Sorry, buddy, but the Snes/Super Famicom version wins by virtue of being in stereo and not monaural.

*Guess he never used headphones.
