The Bonne pirate family from Mega Man Legends? Sledge Man, Totem Man, Kendo Man, Comet Man, Neon Man, and Amp Man? Both Mega Man and Proto Man as playable characters? 8-bit graphics!!!

A Canadian-based team of industry professionals has been working hard on a fan made Mega Man 8-bit throwback game. Team Reaverbot, as they are called, consists of "Julian Spillane from DHX Media (formally Silicon Knights), Jason Canam from Guacamelee's Drinkbox Studios, Orie Falconer and Daniel Ochoa from Vast Studios, Tim McLennan from Gameloft, and independent artist Jeff Canam." The team plans to have a demo released by December 17th, just in time for the Blue Bomber's 25th anniversary.

Awesome! Maybe they should add an option to remove Mega Man's helmet for a more "legendary" feel. Let me guess, we get card shield for beating Tarot Man.

does it have Day 1 DLC?

nah just kidding... it looks cool!!! but the music doesn't sound like megaman
Agree, it feels like they are using drum instruments foreign to mega man games. The "art" needs a bunch of revision before it actually looks like Mega Man. I love how they have to state they are "professionals". Makes it all seem less credible to me.
However, I'm still really looking forwards to playing it! :)

This guy got spot on with megaman soundtracks tho: http://xavierdang.com/mm11sp/
Sadly there was no game in development (for legal causes I guess).

Then there's also this megaman game in the progress:

The soundtrack for MegaMan Unlimited is by Kevvviiinnn who's already proven to be quite the Mega Man style imitator. Check his youtube, he's got tons of Mega Man-esque songs there all free to for listening! :D
Here's another clip of that.

The Pixel-art in the opening cutscenes is abysmal (sorry brah), and the music doesn't feel like Megaman.

And Protoman and Megaman have the SAME powerups? What's the gameplay difference between them, then?

Can't say I'm seeing myself playing this.

if you also like SNES style Megaman... you should check NitroFlasher. He's awesome!!

btw... Megaman 11 it's just a fan OST, really cool concept for an album if you ask me.
Now, someone should make a fan game out of that!
yeah I really like that project aswell!!! I actually started on a remix of one of the tracks. But I haven't continued it cause I haven't figured out where to go from making it sounding just like the snes sound. :P

if you guys have concerns, don't post them here. there is a reason i linked to their twitter account. they are actively discussing the project and reading their twitter. got an issue with something? make a big deal about it on a blog (or somewhere) and link them to it. i get the impression that they are releasing this information now because they are at a stage that they would like input from fans. they could just have easily released a final product, mega man hypes itself.

And you made it this far as a Mega Man fan, how?
Agreed. outside the subseries being different from each other, sequels in each subseries has been generally the same gameplaywise with extremely minor improvements. Just take a look at the lack of change between the first 3 Mega Man X games, and all 4 Mega Man Zero games.

Just like the "Poke'Mon" games, if the formula works don't mess with it. :grog:
