ETA on the Blog function's resurrection?

I know there are more important things to worry about, but one of the main functions I loved about GBAtemp were its blogs. I was just wondering if you guys are doing something special with them and not just shoving a cookie cutter plugin in this time. That being said, my problem is not that it's taking too long, but that I haven't heard anything other than "It'll be back".

The Staff already have a lot on their plate. There's likely no ETA on any previous or new functions being implemented in the forum. Just have patience.

They're most likely stored somewhere.

However I really do find the lack of blogs quite annoying at times so I also would like to know if there's an ETA on this.

This place is like a monastery (a deserted one) without the Scene Release section.

I don't even use it but it's important for symbolic reasons.

Like I said, just toss me a bone or something. I'd like a little more than a single conformation. I have more patience than the average guy on the internet. Especially since just putting a plugin into the forum takes very little effort compared to the cool custom blogs we had. I really liked the old blogs and I figure that since they weren't added back in a few weeks after the hack they've gotta be doing something cool with the section.

Same here. I figured I'd better get it out of the way though. Back when the old blogs were here, I had 2000 something active posts there. They never counted on post count either. Now, USN and General Gaming are my buddies.

I liked the old blog system made by Costello (integrated to the forum, as its own section), it was easier to catch updates and replies as the activity was front paged too.
the add-on for IPB was more hidden, as a result I suppose less users read them (me included).

I didn't hear anything on blogs resurrection yet, and I'm curious to know which system it will be, existing add-on or custom made.


As for "it's just an add-on to install with little effort", not really. It also requires conversion from all the old messages to appear in the "effortless add-on". It require times to convert and time to write the converter.
I suppose old posts could be added later, but I don't like that idea of adding old messages later.

Well, I may have understated the effort required, but I would imagine installing an existing plugin to require far less work than the custom one. Then again, I have next to no knowledge of any web based coding or software.

Right now we don't have an ETA.
Blogs are not a priority yet.
But in time it will be.
So please try to be patient.
