For a good while now, there's been a big uptick in the usage of puns on this site. Tons of posters have been getting in on the game, needling threads with their clever bits of wordplay.

To all you beating me to punchline after punchline with your quips and wisecracks, I just want to say...

How am I supposed to maintain a pun-opoly with all this stiff competition? Come on, it's just not going to happen!

As a consumer, in the long run, a free market with ample competition is much better than a punopoly, providing better puns at lower cost and increasing customer satsfaction. Tl;dr: stiff ones satisfy me better.

I think Gahars wants some sort of protectionism on puns to protect his punopoly for rivals who may provide superior puns at a lower cost. I presume he wants tariffs placed upon other members who use puns to combat these new threats.
