Really, I think the most fascinating bit of news is that 4% of children aged 6-12 asked for an Apple TV.

That's 4% higher than what I would've guessed.

I wouldn't say that Apple TV is only for nubs though. If you have multiple entertainment systems sometimes the one HTPC system isn't enough. So having a Roku or AppleTV hooked up in a bedroom is a lot easier than building a whole new setup. For 89$ or less I can get a Roku and setup netflix, so I think that is one of the easiest solutions right now. I wish that CableCard Ready tvs were out though, it is really annoying that you must have a giant cable box in every room with TV + cable now.

Besides being an innovate device, it seems like a another consumer item meant to say "Hey, I have so much money I wasted it on this tablet."

Yeah, but tablets are nice because in some instances it's better than the alternative laptop. You can just press one button, open a browser, and search. Meanwhile, a laptop needs to be booted up from sleep/power off mode, login, wait for everything to load, then open the browser. And not to mention, tablets don't overheat if you have it on your lap on a couch.

I plan to use it to take notes and use the other things on my free time.

I'm in the 18% according to this.

Use my laptop to move around in a set area most of the time and planning to use a tablet when
I'm out and about. Save some power for my phone as well since I would be using the tablet to
do thinks I normally do on the phone.

What surprises me is the lack of advertising I have seen (aside from being on here and just cant help but know there's a new console out) , ain't seen a tv commercial or a poster anywhere, yet this poll shows the wii u right up there.(in the UK at least and this is a US poll.)

Then I guess that's a slight indication why there's still 20% wanting a Wii.

Tablets are great for the casual user. They are smaller, lighter, cheaper and can do the tasks these individuals need.

For a casual user, there is no need to waste extra money on a laptop/PC... Unless you really need it that is.

Not really a surprise where Microsoft's Surface lands. Other than that, I'm pretty much shocked at the amount of Apple in that list. Good how Nintendo manages to get a long with them.
