You may not recognize the names Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer, but you're probably aware of their mass marketed fecal releases: Date Movie, Epic Movie, Meet the Spartans, Disaster Movie, and Vampires Suck.

Well, it appears that they are continuing with their long line of crimes against humanity: 2013 will see the release of The Starving Games. From IMDB's brief synopsis...

A spoof movie that parodies The Hunger Games, The Avengers, Sherlock Holmes, and the Harry Potter saga.

The movie will star hilarious and memorable characters like "Kantmiss Evershot", "Dos Equis Girl", "Redfoo", and "Jason Statham".

Anyway I wandered in here hoping to see a sendup of the cobwebs advert I saw when I saw Skyfall the other day- it was almost as amusing as the "you wouldn't" campaign- as it finished there were whispers along the lines of "who the hell watches cams?" and it was a good sign.

Now I am trying to think of the last good parody I saw.... if I am not allowed to count something like the recent piranha films then it would probably be Lesbian Vampire Killers and that was 2009. That said as long as stuff like Lockout keeps being made I can probably live with that.

Edit- finally got around to seeing your highness- I can approve of that.

When I was in middle school, these movies were about the funniest and best films, only when I was in middle school.

This is part two of the master plan. Part one was strapping magnets to the bodies of Alfred Hitchcock, Stanley Cubrick and Orson Welles. Step three is harvesting the rotary motion of said bodies during movie screenings. I.e., them turning in their graves, to generate electricity. Each Friedberg/Seltzer movie can power a city the size of New York for a year. The power generated that way can be put to good use. The DVD release of "Meet the Spartans", for example, has been powering the Large Hadron Collider since 2008.

It's evidently both a Korean monster film and a tween-focused, romantic variant of Invasion of the Body Snatchers.

Sadly, there is no crossover of the two. THAT might be interesting.
