I have a Supercard DSTwo and it had been working just fine for years. Recently, my microsd became corrupt - the DSTwo could still run it, but my computer couldn't read it (it broke halfway through a .sav backup, luckily I managed later to copy all my saves). So I got a new microsd - a Nokia class 6 8GB one.

I copied the needed files that any guide/site has, and put it in my DSi XL to try and boot it. The DSi recognized the cartridge - it showed the icon and all - but when I tried to load it, it first just gave me a double black screen. Later it said there had been an error and to consult the DS manual. I looked it up, and I saw that it could be my DSi blocking it, so now I got my brother to lent me his DS Lite to use it to update it.

It still won't work. I get a white screen at the bottom and a black one on top. I tried formatting the microsd, I tried downloading different releases of the firmware, nothing is working. I've been searching online too and can't find anything that works. What could be wrong?

Pls try this method ,by which i recovery my broken dstwo :

You should get a NDSL and another flashcard(such as : ak2i,r4i sdhc or any one card ,here i called “A”), which works properly work on NDSL.
1.Download the dstwo update patch firmware 1.18 and A card kernel , and unzip them,open the folder and copy the root files into your Micro SD card;
2.Download dstwo loader and unzip it,open the folder,then you will get file dstwo_load_NDSL.nds.
3.Run A card latest kernel file and dstwo_load_NDSL.nds on a DS/DSL
4.Take “A” card out of the NDSL
5.download dstwo latest firmware v1.11,unzip it,open the folder and copy the root files into your micro sd card.Then put dstwo_load_NDSL.nds and update patch firmware 1.18 root files into your micro sd card as well.
5.Reinsert your broken dstwo card into the NDSL,Press KEY_A and the updating process will begin;
6.You should keep your NDSL powered on during the updating process;
8.If the result shows SUCCESS, it means you have updated your dstwo successfully and this card can work on

I did try that method, but it turns out I couldn't get any other kernel to run in my brother's R4 :/ I tried his cellphone's microsd instead to run it, and it worked just fine - so I think it's the new microSD that I got that's messed up, too. I just have horrible luck, it seems.

Could anyone rec a good microsd?

Generally A-Data, PNY, and Transcend are recommended brands. Don't go with Kingston, they don't actually make cards and just resell other stock, so you run the risk of getting a bad one.

Make sure it's class-4 or above (most people go class-6 to be safe).

EDIT: And, if possible, get it from a legit physical store near you that carries general electronics. Don't go with cheap stuff off ebay or whatever.

I can't, buying from e-bay and such isn't cheap because shipping costs are awful. And man I don't think I've ever seen any of those being sold here. Any idea if there's a more international decent brand maybe?

Thank you very much for the input on both things, btw, everyone! I completely forgot to say it in the earlier reply.

What about SanDisk or Samsung?
