You won't find any in stores, if that's what you mean.

The best way to get one is still to order online.

*EDIT*
RHS used to deliver in 2-3 days when I ordered from them. But the last time I ordered anything from RHS was 2 years ago. If you order today, you'll probably get it before Friday. No guarantees, though. You can probably e-mail them to say that you're in CA for a limited time.

They're not made or sold directly in the US so they're only available via import, so unless you happen to have an individual-run import shop in your neighborhood that sells things like out-of-region games, you'll have to order online like everybody else.

Large stores that sell gaming stuff don't sell flash carts 'cause companies like Nintendo tell them something like "If you sell this crap, we won't let you carry Nintendo stuff", so you're not going to find flash carts at gamestop or anything.

EDIT: realhotstuff.com ships from NJ, modchipcentral.com from somewhere in canada (I've had MCC send me a flash cart in three days).

I did something very fast (or clever enough or stupid enough) I wen to GraigList and search for 'flashcart' on Bay Area and I found this http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/eld/3381559239.html [http://www.hellodsi.com] and then I contact the guy and combine to pay him through paypal and he told me it is completely fine to delivery it Tuesday morning. ;/ I hope so, and then I also bought this SHDC on amazon (amazonbasics 32gb).

I forget to turn off automatic updates and my menu right now is 4.4.0-10U.
Will it still work with R4i Gold? (by my reading yes)
Besides 'automatic updates' should I turn off anything else? Any recommendation for a new owner of 3DS LX (beyond the manual, of course) that loves custom apps, emulators?

Thanks very much you guys (sorry for so much newbie questions)

Wait, which one? The "R4i Gold" from R4iDS.CN is the one you want to do for.
Owww that's a good question but I hit his site http://www.hellodsi.com/category-s/2.htm and and I think is the one from R4iDS.cn at least by the picture

put the wood firmware on your msd card and get to gaming!

I will try this tonight but I was reading that is impossible to update R4i firmware if my 3DS is on the 4.4.0-10U. (I only left off the automatic update now), is that true? and then I need to use a DS or a 3DS with lower system menu.

what part are you lost at?

the firmware bootloader updates are packaged into .nds files. which means you need a working flash kit to run them. if your ds firmware is 1 level to high, preventing you from booting your flash kit, then you can not run the r4i gold update file. your best bet is to find someone with a ds you can borrow for 5 minutes. boot the card, run the update .nds file, wait, and then power down. after the bootloader has been updated you can run that flash kit on any ds with a firmware equal to or lower than the update file.

I was trying to say that now I need to find someone with NDS or 3DS to do that, lost in a sense of "man I need to find out a guy to do this update". Thanks for the full explanation

Oddly enough I just downloaded rar from here http://filetrip.net/nds-downloads/f...ad-wood-r4-for-r4i-gold-r4ids-154-f31064.html and I unrar this file on the root and create a folder to homebrew and it works, is it only that? I mean, I didn't see any .nds file in the wood.

@K3Nv2 Snow Day is pretty fun. My only bitch would be the camera controls, when you move around, say down, you have to move the right stick left or right to get camera to turn and get your view, other than that I like it so far.

From what people say pvp isn't even worth it
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
I just been playing offline, and they give you a few bots here n there on your team to help battle. I don't think it's as funny as the other games tho, more battle oriented than humor, which kinda sucks, but I'm still early in it
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@BigOnYa, doesnt the game have a campaign mode?
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Yea, and co-op, but you can also start a pvp session and battle just with friends. You get special skill cards (powers) the more you play. And higher value cards, but you can only enable so many cards at a time.

Toilet paper is considered the money, you collect and buy stuff with TP, kinda funny. Graphics are def better than the other games tho, I think they used Unity 5 engine.

I bet most people at the time still watched it in black and white
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, Many of them did before colour television was common.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Likely because black and white TV was in-expensive.

  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
It certainly wasn't inexpensive it cost the same as a new car back then
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
How much did a 1965 color TV cost?

For example, a 21-inch (diagonal) GE color television in 1965 had an advertised price of $499, which is equal to $4,724 in today's dollars, according to the federal government's inflation calculator.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@K3Nv2, take into consideration how economy was back then
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Yeah that's why they listed inflation rates
