Hacking Just bought a new slim and wanna jailbreak!

Hidey-ho, I finally bought a ps3, and as luck would have it, its a slim. It's a cech-3001a, which I heard is unhackable at this point so I was wondering if anyone knew if the homebrew team was already hard at work on the new models or if they've resigned. If anyone could fill me in on the status of their projects and what they're planning on undertaking that'd be great cuz Id really like to jailbreak my first playstation.

Atm team are still working on unlocking current jailbreakable consoles. As of all PS3 manufactured since mid 2011 your console is unhackable because Sony added an extra hardware protection.

Theres a team working on a ODDE that might work on your console but i probably means no homebrew and we will not see this soon.

As for now enjoy your life buying your games or get an older model.

Ouch, ya, well maybe I just will enjoy my life, so there. Actually, kidding aside I never sought out to hack my shiny ps for free games, I make it a habit to buy them. All of them, what other way can you support your favorite devs? Anyways, I hope they come up with a solution soon.

Aren't you supposed to buy you games either way?
Playstation plus is 50e for whole year and you get tons of great big budjet games to play (most of them are PS3/console exclusive which is really good thing as I play mostly on PC), lots of free cosmetic stuff and lot of other stuff. I suggest buying that if you just got your PS3.

Also jailbreaking is iOS term. Installing custom firmware is more preferable term when talking about PS3/PSP.

Actually, with the PSjailbreak dongle, and Geohot calling hacking the PS3 jailbreaking it, it's (for me) fair to call it like that.

Kay...just today I picked up 2 vitas and I dl mhfu on the ps store, yay! There's nothing I love more than monster hunter...except Zelda. Anyways the firmware is 1.81 I believe...is home brew possible on these babies? I can't seem to find anything to suggest they are...not the end of the world, loving my first vitas so its a win really. I just wanted to play some zelda on my vita.

EDIT: nvm just checked the vita scene and its not happening right nw either

The MHFU exploit got patched with 1.80. There's another exploit currently available (I just finished downloading it myself) which you can find through the usual channels.

I won't name it because that helps Sony find it faster.
