Remember Zombie Massacre? You know that FPS on the Amiga...erm no...well neither do I and I'm an old Amiga fanboy! Well it was also called Gloom 4, you remember Gloom right? No? Well I kinda remember the first one, but I try to forget about that piece of crap.

Well for some reason Uwe Boll has paid actual money to make that game into a movie rather than you know...just making a zombie movie not based on a game. Ok this was actually meant to be based on the Wii exclusive "re-imagining" of the game...that never came out nor did it even get any coverage before Uwe bought the rights...yeah Uwe Boll, fantastic business sense to buy these rights!

^ That...that has a budget of $50 million...really, not even joking. As a comparison, Shaun of the Dead (which had great zombie effects) had a budget of $6 million and most of that was spent on marketing.

I've seen some of his films and I think I would have rather have spent the 90 minutes shitting out of my nose then watch anymore of them! This coming from someone who doesn't mind SyFy movies...they shit but fun shit...Uwe Boll's are just shit.

I just threw my laptop at my TV!!! :nayps3:
Who keeps giving this man money???

The German government gives him a bail-out every time his films do poorly financially.

It is good business sense, he pays practically nothing to make a shitty movie, then Germany (and the rest of Europe technically) give him a boatload of taxpayer money to keep German ("european") businesses afloat.

Yeah he's been accused of all this and it makes big sense, even this movie...I really find it hard to believe that the $50 million that this film had was put into this movie! Of course when anyone accuses him or even criticises anything he does he's all "yeah well you're a retard, c'mon bro we'll have a boxing match to prove who is better". The argument he had with Michael Bay was the only time anyone can rightly side with Bay.

Gloom 4 looks like a nice game, if you have played everything else available on the face of earth.
Even the Alien Breed 3D series beats Gloom, they even stole assets from Doom and openly admitted it!
AB3D1 sucked massive ass, I deleted it after 5 minutes of playing...

I miss Team17 when they made good games that weren't just revisiting previous glories. I still can't get into the recent Alien Breed games.

Granted the CGI was awful (pick any of the good youtube CGI crowd and they beat that without question), the teeth made me laugh and it looks like someone has just discovered slow motion (without a camera that can do it well) and colour correction, but compared to a lot of the earlier stuff most of that was fairly well framed, reasonably well lit/exposed and might have even demonstrated something close to pacing. That said it seems on Mr Boll is only tagged as a producer (and not even an executive one) so I have no idea what to think.

On the other hand Hadrian you and I seem to take a kind of perverse delight in showing each other videos of things we could have once enjoyed going downhill (I really should apologise for that IOS James Pond, but I will not) so challenge accepted once more.

I actually forgot about that iOS James Pond game...thanks for reminding me. :(

Still cannot get over the GBA/DS Robocod game that featured none of the original content and put baddies in levels where they didn't belong, especially as there was a proper GBA port of that game that also had James Pond as a unlockable bonus game and Aquatic Games as a multiplayer extra that never got released as the publisher lost the license. Instead of the we got some substandard fanmade quality release. God I hate gaming sometimes.

Team17 made something other than Worms?
Superfrog, which is gaming prozac. Alien Breed series (before they took 3D it) which was a brutal survival horror game where if you didn't get out of a base in time...game over, no second chances. Assassin, well ok that was a Strider clone, Body Blows which was a good fighter, ATR a fantastic racer, Project X a brilliant shooter, Super Stardust again another great shooter and later a great PSP game.

They were once an extremely good and prolific developer but like many Amiga developers (Psynosis, Bitmap Brothers etc) they lost their way once the Amiga died.
