In the case of Samurai Warriors: Chronicles 2nd, Inside Games say the eShop version will take up 1,800MB of space. Interestingly, Tecmo Koei are pricing the eShop version of the game slightly cheaper than the retail version. The retail version costs ¥6,090 but the eShop version will cost ¥5,400.

Well, this marks the first actual game that’s available for a cheaper price on the eShop than at retail. So I guess price wise, it's up to 3rd party developers to set them. I don't think first party titles will follow suit though, but we will see when time progresses.

The sales would be better on eShop if nintendo put they games 10-20 % cheaper then retail.
I hope that all of the 3rd party developers set the prices cheaper on eShop

What Nintendo claim? They can't force third party developers. Well they can, but then they will be pushing them away.

NIntendo's first party hardly drops a cent let alone future digital releases. lol

I heard somewhere that they said digital releases and physical ones will be priced the same to maintain some sort of integrity or whatever.
Or does that only imply for first parties? I'm not too sure.

First party. Nintendo allows third parties to set their own prices. That's why we see some cheaper titles on retail and eshop. Not all priced at £39.99 like first party games.

People were planning to sell digital for the same as retail? Well that's just fucking dumb.

People love digital because A) it's convenient and B) it's cheap. Take away one or another (or both) and there's no reason to buy it. It's why Games on Demand on the Xbox is so atrocious and why Steam transformed a market within a couple of years.

...Borderlands 2, Skyrim, Dishonored just a few are all 59.99 on Steam. So really, what's the point of bashing Nintendo when it comes to pricing digital games when there are so many on Steam that do the same.

Steam is only really good for a couple of reasons:

Sales (though when they do 10% off a newly released game...it still costs 10% more than retail!)

People seem to be blind to Steam's prices, it's great for sales several months down the line still but newly released titles cost far too much digitally. Even those newly released titles with a "10% for a few days" still costs 10% more than retail and there isn't much reasoning for it, at least Nintendo has their "we can't upset retailers with first party pricing" thing.

Really Steam is nice and you can still choose from where you get you game.
You just need to know where you buy your Games ;)
for example:
Borderlands 2 for 34,90 €
https://www.hitfox.c...-pc-download-v5

Greenmangaming does have a 20% voucher on ALL PC Downloads (and anyway have always nice deals for steam games)
http://www.greenmangaming.com/

and even Amazon sells steam keys ;)
http://www.amazon.co...2&tag=chcjus-20

I actually dont see that coming to any Console

I am of opinion that digital should be cheaper, but I don't get up in arms about it. That said, when I can, I prefer the PC for numerous reasons, and it's not hard to get a new release for 25% off between pre-order and early release, just have to watch a few sites. With increasing competition in the digital sales, companies are willing to lower their price to sell more overall.

I got Dead Space 1+2 and Mass Effect 1+2 for $5 each, so y'all can suck it with your hate. :P
Well, you could've got them retail for that much, since they're now old as heck. I'm glad for Steam just because I don't have to go bargain hunting, but they rarely actually lower their prices more than the used value of a game stands for in that moment.

Was going to argue but then noticed your flag.

Well, I can tell you they're the same price retail and digital at normal pricing over here in NA.
