Alright, got my 3DS XL for almost a week now.
Like the title says.. is it just me or the sweetspot is really harder to maintain?

When the 3DS first came out, I have seen and heard a lot of people complaining about sweetspot of the 3DS.. I personally didnt have much issues to be honest. I played Super street fighter and many games where I constantly moved around and constant button mashing.. nothing out of the ordinary was noticed by me.

With the 3DS XL however, slight(TINIEST) movement of my head makes me feel dizzy and I see everything double/tripple. I have tested on various games including my mostly played game on the original 3DS, SSIV.. even that is giving me the same result. Tiniest movement is causing ghosting and very hard to focus the vision.

Now, I am wondering.. is it just me?

I'm thinking it's just you but to be sure you have to compare it to another XL. Think you can get hold of one from a friend/store or something?

It wouldn't be a hardware issue, but design difference from the original 3DS. You will get the same results no matter how many different XLs you try.

Yeah, I could try other 3DS XL :).
But dont think it could be a hardware issue?
Yes, the XL viewing angle feels easier for me to maintain and according to reviews out there they even go as far as saying that the viewing angle has been improved drastically. I think it's almost the same but easier thanks to the bigger screen, the size of the viewing area depends on the distance between the screen and your eyes so maybe you're holding it to close/far away?

Despite what some have commented above most people agree that the XL's 3D is better. Read some reviews/look up some hands on previews and see what they have to say about it.

I have tried holding at different distances. Also tried putting the 3D slider down.. didnt really make any difference.

Damn, if you brought it from a store near you maybe you could explain to them that you think your system is faulty and that you want to try out another XL...idk.

Sounds like it's a factory faulty unit if you think the original looks better, which is against what I've heard/read and experienced myself. Sorry dude :(

I am literally comparing my brothers Aqua Blue original to my Blue/Black XL.
I have barely any problem with the original. Where as.. if I take a deep breath and make a tiny movement I have having issues on the XL.

I will go try a few other units around and see if it really is a faulty unit.

I mean thats what i thought. Maybe it has something to do with your eyes. Thats possible right? Some people cant see the 3D effect, maybe your eyes are reacting differently to the bigger screens...

Ya perhaps. I mean the 3D effect is there. i gotta seat stiff and still for no ghosting -.- which is kinda annoying.

i have the same problem, regular 3ds no problem getting the sweet spot but on the xl it's always blurry, most of the time i have to turn the 3d effect off so i can see what i am doing, i have the console quite far from my face too and steady, still blurry.

You mean the regular 3DS right? Huh, thats weird. Either your XL is defective or you might have some ocular dissonance.
Ya on the regular 3DS
I think it's your eyes. I have no problem keep the sweetspot on a regular and 3DS XL.
So yeah, it all depends on the eyes. XD
