I recently advertised a charity group with a link to a facebook page, I took the page down after posting it here because I was only looking for first reactions, they were mixed and I think it was miss understood what the goal was. In this topic I was like you to share your opinion on whether you think this is a good idea and something that may be something people would support.
Okay:
So basically me and my team were looking into ways to raise money for charity. We looked what other people are doing and have done, and we saw the Everest climb. We thought that the Everest climb or something like that is something big enough to show what we are willing to do the raise charity, and also grab enough interest and attention to raise a lot. Although the Everest climb is dangerous it is something that is worth doing to raise the money. After discussing it we decided that climbing Everest to begin with without any real experience is more stupid than courageous. So we came up with a way to fix it by getting some experience on some of the smaller mountains first. We would climb the seven peaks and start with the smallest first. The real advantage to doing all seven is that if we can raise the money to fund the first climb, we can then try to raise more money during the climb and reach a bigger total. After climbing the first one we, if we raise enough, use some of the money to fund the next climb and give the rest to charity. Then on the next climb do the same again, try to raise money and then use some to pay for the next one and give the rest to charity and so one until the end. This way we can continue to raise money as we go and eventually raise raised more money than we would have on a single climb.
Also if we get to the point where we has raised a lot and have done all seven, we could keep all the money until the end and then provide a poll to those who have donated asking them what charity they would like to see the money go to. After the polls are in, split the total into the percentages and then pay it to the charities.
So what do you think, worth a donation in the future when everything is put together or more tweaks needed, or scrap the whole idea?
