Any chance of a beta update for the www.r4idsn.com one? I'm pretty sure they're the same company, but I don't think the firmware updates are interchangeable.

EDIT: Nevermind... Apparently one has been released at the website. Silly me.
EDIT2: The update won't even start on my card. It just fails on the 'card check' and tells me to press the A button again. Strange, because previous updates have worked just fine.

You use the DSi file.

You should make use of ndsi one on your 3dsxl.

copy both onto card
one will work, the other will not lol
if you try the wrong one it will say FAIL
when its right it will say PASS

When I updated the card the game icon shows up as metroid prime hunters demo. Card boots up and works fine.

Works just the same as it always has all games load only difference I noticed is when it boots up instead of saying r4i gold 3ds starting is says www.r4ids.cn instead

what exactly is on the shopping channel that's worth going on for anyway? These updates are made just to block you from going on there, and if you want to play nds games on your 3ds just don't update it's that simple.

I buy lots of virtual console and eshop games plus I get game download rewards from club nintendo so its kind of important to me

works great just use you old nds to update the card then pop it in your 3ds and done!

Both r4ids.cn patches 'Fail' for me. I followed their directions, I own a DS Lite/DSi/3DS, so I tried all combinations too. It must be a problem with the patch because the r4ids.cn team has removed the patch from their website. I did note that the patch available for download in this thread is supposedly for the "C" revision of the r4ids.cn flash card.

On the other hand, the r4ids.com team made a 100% working patch and my flash card updated quite easily Rydian, I'd like to point out that this is a good example of why I suggested the r4ids.com flash card to that one visitor two weeks ago. If you can recall you said something along the lines of, "jimmyemunoz has a reason for suggesting the r4ids.com, but the whole forum advises buying a r4ids.cn flash card." The r4ids.com team is very serious about their business and they always answer emails; the r4ids.cn team does not. I have received e-mails from the r4ids.cn team, but not every time I message them. Anyways, after exchanging messages with me, he decided to buy a r4ids.cn flash card, so I belive he'll still be okay with 4.4.0-10 compatibility (I hope really). The reason he'll be okay is because it looks like the r4ids.cn team has found a 4.4.0-10 compatibility update with the new(er) revisions of their flash card. I have the card with an "8" printed by the contacts and the patch I downloaded in this thread failed. I hope they figure out a way for the first revisions of the R4i Gold 3DS to be compatible with 4.4.0-10 firmware.

People who successfully updated, what letter or number is printed right next to the R4i Gold 3DS's contacts (the gold teeth that the DS uses to read the flash card)?**
