First came bikini waxing,
then Brazilian waxing,
then anal bleaching,
but all of that just wasn't enough.
Now a Thai company insists that a lady's intimate parts need to glow like albino alabaster to make their man happy.

That ain't no ordinary Lily of the Valley they're bleaching.
Wow. One day, the children of our children are going to come to us and say "Grandma, grandpa, tell us again about how the world became obsessed with how nice their naughty bits look!"
"Well ya see, there once was this girl called Paris Hilton who made amateur sex tapes popular....."

I'd laugh if it wasn't for the fact I'm going to have to deal with this shit in several forms.

I'm not a big supporter of plastic surgery and excessive cosmetics use when it's not required - there's a difference between skin transplants for a burn victim who requires them to improve the comfort of his or her life, using foundation to cover up some acne and... well... bleaching anuses or colouring labia... but on the other hand, people should do whatever they feel like doing with their bodies.

This is of course unreasonable and it propagates a false idea of beauty, much like today's media, only rising the bar for women even though it's already set pretty high and dehumanises - bah! - objectifies them to the level of their labia, but never the less, they should be allowed to "whiten" it if they feel like they require it to feel comfortable with their bodies.

I think we have the society in general to blame, especially mass media and specific sectors of adult film industry rather than the surgeons or cosmetologists. The problem isn't within the procedures themselves, it's in the minds of those who think that this is an integral part of the standard of beauty. It's natural to wish to meet the horizon of expectations as far as beauty is concerned, however there have to be certain boundries in place, dictated by reason, no less, before even establishing one.

Vanity only takes you so far, and we all know what excessive expectations lead to - anorexia, bulimia, plastic surgery-related illnesses and all sorts of mental problems for the beautiful and the strong sexes alike.

It's a good time to sit down and think about what matters in a woman the most - inner beauty, or perhaps... white labia.
