Why are people so ape about the food colouring which will more than likely have zero effect on the intended flavour?

We appear to have no problems eating sweets in the colours of the rainbow, we drink sodas that come in every colour imaginable - clear or not clear as well, and we're going to be picky about a burger that's *meant* to be gimmicky?

Besides, this is Japan. If you think this is silly, you should look at their lines of sodas over the years. Even big name brands like Pepsi did some crazy stuff over the years.

I'd personally try it because it's a novelty item, I don't see anything wrong with it being black - it's meant to stand out.

Wait...yeah..i'll reconsider, out of curiosity i'd try it. I remember trying purple ketchup back in the day -i think there were other colors as well- and at first i thought it was going to taste like nyquil+sugar..and it was nothing shocking. That was neat!

Guys and girls, i think we need more colors in life nowadays. Everything is just too black, white, grey, and silver.
Lets bring back colored ketchup, fire-red/blue/golden pepsi, etc

It's merely a burger that's supposed to celebrate the chain's anniversary - it's a limited time special item. A gimmick. It's not put on the menu for good.

This is Japan we're talking about - they could've come up with all sorts of nasty, gross stuff to put in there, but no. It's your average burger that's been coloured black. It may not look appetizing, but I don't think it's even supposed to. It's just a gimmick.
