Remember Yaiba? Well it turns out that it is part of a brand new Ninja Gaiden spin-off called Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z.

original.jpg

It's developed by Team Ninja (Ninja Gaiden, some shit Metroid game, Dead or Alive and some shit DoA spin offs) in collabaration with Spark (some meh PSP CoD game, the crappy Turning Point: Fall of Liberty, the crappy Legendary and the pointless Lost Planet 3) with direction from Keiji Inafune (Dead Rising, Mega Man, Resident Evil & Chip 'N Dale which shits on all of those games).

You play Yaiba and your quest is to murder central NG character Ryu, Haybasha...for some reason.

There is no expected release date, no platforms confirmed and only this previously released trailer:

It looks neat, hopefully Spark aren't that involved with the project.

So we've got one developer which has gone severely downhill recently, one developer who has always been bad, and one developer whose been out of the saddle for a bit.

Eh. Plus it follows the whole "with zombies!" trend which is getting a bit stale.

Seeing people are crapping zombies into most franchises, where is my fucking Resident Evil X Dino Crisis game?

Zombies + Dinosaurs + Triceratops eating T-Rexs = shutup&takemymoneyohcapcomfuckeditupermno.jpg

Fuck it, lets put Dinosaurs into every game, would certainly improve CoD.

I'm still excited for this, love ninja gaiden but 3 is really bad compared to earlier games.
Anyone looking forward to this should try out mark of the ninja on XBLA. It's as good as shadow complex (quality-wise) imo though more of a stealth game.

This trailer reminds me of mad world wii. Anyway, now we have zombies on FPS games, on outer space games, on rock n'roll puzzle games and even in gardening games. I like most of these game but this zombie thing made me think that developers want some kind of game where they have no need to create an extreme AI system.

Now I want games where I can shoot / slash / pulverize alive and smart people.

Well in Spark's defense Lost Planet 3 might not be as bad as the previous two games in the series, Team Ninja's games are usually good but if DoA 5 is crap the studio is probably going to go even further downhill.

Not to mention Metroid Other M and Ninja Gaiden 3. Something is wrong at Team Ninja.

I just don't know why Inafune would team with these studios. He's Keiji Inafune, he could probably get a bunch of better developers to work with him.

Eh...

Well, it's fitting that Spark is involved, because this was probably the Turning Point for my hype. It might still be good, but I'm certainly not expecting anything Legendary.

Well, Team Ninja gameplay mechanics tend to be rather solid. Presentation/direction is iffy at times. Though with Other M presentation wasn't their fault.
Can't comment on Spark.

Maybe all they need is the direction of Inafune for something decent or even good.
