God Eater 2 will be released on the Vita and the PSP sometime in 2013. According to Famitsu, players will be able to transfer save data between each version of the game and both versions will be cross-compatible for multiplayer.

Never tried the first one. Worth playing?

PSP version available?... hmmm.... looks like a good way to destroy eventual sales of the Vita version.

I mean, almost everyone in Japan has a PSP, but not a Vita. So I'm sure that 90% of the japanese players will end up buying the PSP version.

The cross multiplayer thing is good, though. It'll probably push more gamers in buying Vita.

I think most people will probably go for the better version (Vita).
Although I'm not sure what they could add to make the Vita version stand out.

It's more like giving VIta owners more players to play with, since they seem to be a glaring minority. Also, what if Vita owners decide to get the PSP version on their Vita instead?

Slaying gods is one thing, but eating them? It must require one hell of an appe-titan.
You have no ideaty.
Well, beggin yer pardon, sir, but Ashura's hell do!

My post was removed even though it wasn't trolling or flamebait?

Vita isn't going to be saved with more ports.

Wasn't flamebait or trolling di-per-se, but you know what happens when you post in a Vita thread.

People start replying to you, you reply back, thread derails, flames appears - and everything goes to shit.

Ah, the wonders of economy...

If you were Namco and had this information, what would you do?

Now, from a banker's perspective, if 90% of the Japanese Sony handheld owners own a PSP and only 10% own a Vita, releasing a PSP version multiplies the profits. You get to save the Vita sales, and at the same time, you still sell to your old market.

If the differences between the two versions are substantial (graphics-wise), it still has the capacity to push Vita sales, even if only for eye-candy.

See? Everybody wins.

Vita isn't going to be saved with more ports.
I'd wager that this is a Vita down-port, not a PSP up-port, provided that the two games even work on the same engine version. The fact that they can connect in Multi doesn't necessarily mean that they run on the exact same engine with the exact same features, sir. All it means is that the multiplayer feature uses the same set of variables.

I believe the two games do work on the same engine, however with various features disabled in the PSP version, much like in the case of Call of Duty Wii vs. Call of Duty on anything else.

It's not a Vita down-port (which wouldn't even make much sense considering how much more powerful the Vita is). It was in development for the PSP and then they decided to port it to the Vita.

Even if it was (which it isn't), the Vita needs exclusive games. Not multiplats or ports.

Tell that to Sony then, because third-party will always develop for the more popular platform out of the bunch. In this case, it's the PSP, not the Vita.

Am I doin' it rite, raulpoca? :tpi: ...okay, I'll stop now.
