Good luck trying to move that monster when you put all your crap in your next multi-million dollar mansion. Or should I say, I feel sorry for the poor sods who have to move that thing for them.

I'll wait for a 24" or something close to it. I wanna comfortably browse the web and play games without seeing a single jaggie.

Nice to mention the scaling thingy, but everybody knows it's just stretching the 1080 image to fill fullscreen on that basterd of a TV.
So the 1080 image becomes naturally a little fuzzy....for 25K I'd expect better, lol!

Imagine if nintendo next handheld had screens as big as this and it was called the xl super or something XD but anyways I would never spend a dime on Sony's products and even if I was rich I wouldn't spend a dime on them. Plus lcd is old now and most new tvs have leds in them with 3d capabilities.

I seen this. This may be a silly comment/thought, but I hope they aren't trying to push these as a setup for their next console.

From what I heard, rumor has it the next Playstation will support 4K resolution. However, it'll still work on standard TV set ups. Think of it as 3D on the PS3.

EDIT: But I do find it funny that people will complain that a TV is too large or that it's just too good. I mean it's a TV guys, if I could afford this then fuck yeah I'd buy it. I want to live in a goddamn movie theater.

I was just thinking "Wow those pics have some amazing detail". Then I realized that I'm looking at them from my 20" 720p monitor so why even bother with this tv.

That is if you have enough room.

My house is quite large and I have a 52" Sony LED TV in the living room, to me it's already on the "quite big" side. Beyond that is just too large.

A resolution this high is inevitable but I don't think we're quite there yet. For one, we don't even have all content available in 1080p let alone 4K. Gaming isn't possible yet at these super-high resolutions. And the price is too damn high.

Pretty much every modern GPU supports 4K (even the one in the Wii U likely will). Just because it supports it doesn't mean it'll be feasible to have any games run at that resolution.

I love how so many people are complaining and bashing the TV, but they fail to acknowledge that a TV of any size is a considered a luxury. Like a car, some people have the amount of disposable income required to make a purchase of the high end, over the top model. Things such as this aren't made with the average consumer in mind, at least not at this point in time. If you can afford it, have the space, and can watch it, awesome! If you can't and don't want it anyways, no big deal. You can stick with a TV that fits your specific needs. There's a reason there are hundreds, maybe even thousands of different TV's on the market at this point in time; everybody has different space requirements, size wants, and resolution needs.

Personally, even if I can never have it, I can still see that this is one hell of an impressive TV, far outdoing most, if not everything on the market currently. The price just happens to reflect that, and that isn't a big deal.

Herp Derp 25k 84in 4k TV? Sony dumb. lol

While there are jokes, I didn't think anyone or at least most in this thread is really complaining and bashing the TV. They are expressing what the feel such as "It is way too big of a TV for me and it cost a lot of money".

Even if I had the money I wouldn't buy it myself.

Now that is something I would rub against... I can only imagine those sleepless nights, watching movies on that 84-inch baby in definition so high that I'd be getting a contact high just by being in its vicinity...

I'm pretty sure it'll be really awesome to watch movies on that thing, a normal Bravia TV is already really good (I really like Sony's TV's, they're pretty good imho), it's friggin expensive, and pretty much a waste of money, however it doesn't take out it's awesomeness, watching HD movies on that thing would be badass... Plus, with a good home studio sound system.

Only 25k? A mere pittance. That's only the price of my car....and my house.....and all my internal organs....all my neighbor's internal organs....

And since all the classy folks already referenced Fahrenheit 451, I'm stuck referencing HIMYM.
We can always... put our old TV's together... with some duct tape... and pretend that it's the new Bravia. It's going to be nice... we'll put on a high-res movie and take a seat a bit further than usual, maybe... maybe we... won't notice... T.T

Better idea: We'll waterproof the back of this TV and it can be the roof/ceiling of the shack we have to live in so we can afford the TV.

A Sony shack... now that's againts the typical GBATemp spirit - is this a trap? :creep:
