Does anyone else find it a pain in the ass to open the cartridge slot on the PS VIta. Why did they make it so difficult to open. You need 10inch long nails. Why not make it easy like on the 3DS etc.

lol, I realize majority of people probably think I am trolling or something. I own both a 3DS XL and Vita and think both are great. Likewise I own a ps3 and a wii. I never owned an xbox or 360 though there are def some good games I missed out on those systems..

In all honesty, I really am annoyed by the Vita cartridge slot cover. Its not a system killer. Its just extremely annoying.

easy like 3DS? The SD card on 3DS and the Vita cartige slot open in a very similar way
He probably meant the 3DS game slot, you know. And if it's similar to the 3DS SD card slot, I can relate to that, it's pretty annoying, you just never need it on the 3DS. I think the PSP had a similar cover for its memory cards.

Ya, I don't mind it having the cover on the SD slot, or memory card slot, since I rarely swap those things in/out. The game cartridge slot on the other hand is a high traffic area. I am always swapping games out and its extremely annoying to have to always find something with a sharp edge and be super careful not to scratch the vita up when opened the cart slot. I think it was a poor design decision.

To expand on my earlier comment, I have no trouble with opening it even if my nails are very short at the time. The fact that there's a groove to use makes it even easier. I find the 3DS SD card slot more difficult (which is still not difficult for me).

I suppose it doesn't hurt for it to be there, to prevent anything (albeit unlikely) from pressing onto and removing the card, even if the DS and 3DS haven't got the same thing (and very rarely, their cards have popped themselves partially out).

I haven't had trouble swapping games. I know a few friends who have. Probably the usual "fat fingers" syndrome, which is common on a lot of electronics (same people have trouble with touchscreen phones).
