I know some things were changed in the EmuNAND function in USB Loader GX 3.0, and I was just curious if anyone tried some of the problematic WiiWare and Virtual Console games that didn't work before.
All the posts/articles I see about it are before 3.0 came out.

Does anyone happen to know why?
And could we install waninkokos r17 cIOS in a separate slot from the dx2 cIOS and then load those games with the r17 cIOS?
If our d2x dev would know it would work :P
Sure you can install them into separate slots.

You can load the game fine in uLoader using Hermes cIOS (I use uLoader v5.2 with Hermes v5.1 but earlier versions work too)
You can also try PostLoader 3 and run the game using the neekbooter loader method (which is Sneek called from real nand)
There might be other workarounds too.
Warning
uLoader is slow but there's a spinning disc that will keep you entertained during the loading time

Both methods need a special setup
with uLoader just place the wad in a folder called "Nand" on your Fat32 HDD
PL3 needs a neek2o nand

There's a uLoader 5.2 now? I'll have to go look at that.
With 5.1 at least you actually had to put the WAD in /nand/install/ and it would extract it into emulated NAND. The nand format it used was completely different from d2x emulation, though. Majora's Mask didn't work for me last time I tried but I'll have to try again. That would be nice.

So basically all I need is Hermes v5.1, and it will load the backups with USB Loader GX?
That would be good for me since i already have it installed as IOS224.
I have it as Base IOS 57 is that okay?

Hey, ABZ, I missed this interesting post of yours.
Is uLoader an important ingredient to make this work or can I couple Hermes v5.1 with other loaders and still be able to load the problematic VC N64 games?
I know USB Loader GX (which I use), does not support non-d2x cIOS's, but perhaps I could create ISO forwarders for these games that launch from the Hermes cIOS.

Now you can use Wiiflow 4 and run the game in neek2o mode too

Yeah, but do you know if Hermes cIOS is what makes the other method work, or is it the combination of it and uLoader?

uLoader uses Hermes only and I don't know any other loader that uses Hermes for WW/VC, but I think it's Hermes not uLoader that makes the difference here
Wiiflow can use Hermes for Wii games but not for WW/VC
In Neek2o mode there's no need for cIOS so it's a different way of loading the game.
Actually Fix94 was considering adding Hermes support for WF lately but he thought this will increase the size of the dol considerably.

OK. It sounds like it might be a wild goose chase to go that route. If Triiforce can be used to load emu nand games with Hermes, then what I'm thinking might work.
Thanks for your help.

It still wont work with d2x, only with waninkokos r17 cIOS.
Or S/UNEEK / NEEK2O.
Works flawlessly with uLoader 5.1E and cIOS223 base37 also.

The Hermes cIOS modules are loaded through mload.
So, the modules are contained in the loader not in the cIOS as in the d2x or Wninkoko's cIOSes.

I do not know, obviously works with uLoader, but I have not tried with other fancy-gui-loaders.
If they support the emu-nand with Hermes's cIOSes they should work fine.

Ah, thanks a lot. That means that it will only work with uLoader, right?
Uloader via Hermes 4, 5, 5.1
or Neek2o method using Wiiflow4 or Postloader4 (no need for cIOS here just neek nand made with modmii or extracted from nand dump)
Edit: even easier option install wanin cIOS rev 17 to slot 252 and run it with any loader using this IOS (not tested but should work) :)

So you keep saying about Uloader and Neek2O :D
I'm just trying to figure out alternatives. I want to stay with USB Loader GX and eat the cake too.
The rev17 option you are referring to does not work with USB Loader GX because it only does emunand with d2x. I used to have it set up that way and loading withing USB GX with forwarder ISOs but the method was not reliable. It worked only sometimes.
