A reader at GoNintendo tried inserting his 128GB card into the 3DS. It worked so long as he formatted it to FAT32.

Too bad 128GB SDXC cards are insanely expensive. Also, can't most things these days read these really high capacity SDXC cards when they're formatted to FAT32?

I bet the read access times on that SDXC card is really slow.
Things like the 3DS home menu taking ages to display streetpass or spotpass notifications, or the photo application taking forever to start up.

128 GB would be useful for Vita, but for 3DS?
The 3DS will soon be getting more download releases, seeing that the 3DS's game carts are as of now able to hold 4GB of data 128GB seems a little more useful.
Later generations of 3DS games should be reaching up to 8GB, Ninty said that 8GB would be the absolute limit for 3DS games in the future, so just like with the DS, the storage limit grows when manufacturing costs go down.

I'd love to have a 32GB SD in my 3DS but since I'm still on the stock 2 GB one with all the ambassador games and a few pics + some music and still have plenty of room to spare, 128 GB is a bit overkill....

Currently have a 32GB SD card in my 3DS. I won't need anything higher, unless of course more games I was interested in made it to digital releases, and if Nintendo were to add things like an actual video player. Then of course homebrew whenever that happens, if that happens.
I bet the read access times on that SDXC card is really slow.
Slower than current compatible SDHC cards?

Try reading the topic dude, that would've answered your question.

It probably will if SDXC cards will work in SDHC compliant devices if they're formatted as FAT 32.

3d videos and screenshots of games
1)Video Converter
2)Video Converter

:yay:

That said, 128gb is still a lot. Tbh, idn know they even go that high.

With a quick look, this is the cheapest 128gb I found.

I just got a 8gb myself.

@[member='KingVamp']: The video converter is kind of a headache. I don't plan on watching videos on the 3DS unless a proper video app comes (which probably won't be until it's hacked).
