is there anyone doing 3DS battery life comparison when using flashcards?

i want to buy DSTWO in exchange for my AK2i, because they update faster.

last time i managed to play 9 hours 9 persons 9 doors from full charge to blinking red LED and it lasted 6 hours on my AK2i (brightness 1, PSM on, earphone at 50%, battery cycle less than 150).

i want to know how long it can last on DSTWO (cause of battery drain issue).

i found a comparison on 3DS on this thread http://gbatemp.net/t...s-battery-life/, but i am not sure the result is accurate or not.

/tldr/ does anybody want to volunteer testing 3DS on DSTWO using same setting and ROM as above (brightness 1, PSM on, earphone at 50%, battery cycle less than 150)?

While I don't have any numbers, I think it is safe to say that you will get lower numbers than the AK2i, even around the 4 hour mark or less. This is due to the built-in SoC (System on Chip) design, which consists of a CPU, RAM, etc all on a single chip within the card, and is always powered on as long as the device it is inserted into is on. Even in sleep mode, the device won't last long because of having to power that SoC.

I don't know about play time, but if you leave a dstwo in the 3ds slot while in sleep mode it drains the battery. Take it out after playing and there's no problems.

Let me put it this way... If I turn my 3DS on, keep it in sleep mode in my pocket with the supercard inserted, it dies in about 3 or 4 hours when I'm NOT EVEN USING IT. So yeah, the DSTwo will get DRAMATICALLY less battery life than any other cart without a SoC.

It seems not very good.
How about playing games on 3DS with dstwo?
2 hours is possible?

It is fine while playing, you just can't leave it in the 3DS when you are not playing it.

You mean that playing it consumes less currency than leaving it in 3DS while not playing?

but according to Rydian's link, it can last over 6 and half an hours. ~.~
or maybe you guys have the wifi on?

What if the system is turned off completely? Dumb question I'm sure.
it will not drain the battery then...

But that testing shown in Rydian's link is based off a DS-Lite, not a 3DS. The 3DS has a bit more stuff to power.

And just to clarify, the comparison of a DS Lite and a 3DS using Snailface's "DS Battery Life timer" is as follows from that link....

DS Lite - 8hr 6min (Full Brightness, Comfortable volume level)
3DS - 6hr 35min (Brightness 1, Power Saving on, Volume 50%, Resolution [320x240])

no no no, you can find the 3DS test result there on contributed test result section

Mentioned it in the post above. And that homebrew app used isn't even process-intensive to drain the battery as much as actual games would.

yeah, but you can see that the gap between the battery life you estimated is far from the test, thus the battery consumption is vary on DSTWO (since you estimated it on sleep mode).

I did not estimate on sleep mode. I mentioned sleep mode at the end of that post (separate from my estimation) because the DSTWO continues to drain the battery in that instance, as it doesn't have its own "sleep mode" to power down with.

The result is very strange.
As metioned above, a 3ds with dstwo inserted only can "work" 3-4 hours in sleep mode.
