i hate to doublepost( i mentioned this in another thread)but i figured it wouldnt hurt to post here as well. I tried using The Last Blade on emu nand, and it either doesnt load, or when it does it has garbled sprites... these new releases of neogeo VC(last blade2 and blazing star are about to be released as well) are larger and possibly using some new sort of encryption per game.. i assume this is the sort of thing that can only be fixed by having d2x updated to support? at any rate, figured it was worth mentioning..

d2x v9 betas 47 and 49fix break the compatibility of my usb hdd when using CFG.

I use the latest beta build of CFG and use d2x base of 56 for loading CFG. The final builds of d2x (v7, v8) work fine, it's the v9 beta builds that make my usb hdd not recognized. I use a seagate freeagent desk 500GB usb hdd, this usb hdd has been a problem in the past. In the beginning I had to stick with using cIOS36 rev10 until cIOS38 rev17 was released. and then after rev17 none of the cIOS releases would work with my seagate until d2x was released. Please find the issues with d2x v9 before the final release. If there's anything I can do on my end to help out, just let me know.


I have a Toshiba drive that has the same symptoms. It will not be recognized when using the latest beta of v9. With v8 final it works perfectly.

Also i have since then switched to a seagate expansion portable 1t usb 2.0 drive and i did a test and its seen with latest v9 beta just fine but didn't have time to test out any games ext.. so i switched back to v8 final which i know
works for everything we play.

on the Spryo games
will the portal of power connect fine to a Wii running the latest stuff?
i wasnt sure if needed to install and specific to make it work
using a usb loader to load the game

Davebaol, the only games i have trouble with currently are my neo geo injects.. they only work with rev 17 . my other vc games all play and are working fine.

You said you don't have problems with any VC games other than injects.
Have you tried any of the following N64 VC games?
- Paper Mario
- Super Smash. Bros.
- Zelda Majora's Mask

They don't work for me on d2x so it they work for you, that would open up hope...

That fix is already there in d2x since many time. It's for very old AP protections by ubisoft and it's not enough for newer games like Tintin.

currently i use postloader and set it to use ios245 base 38 rev9 and all my old neo geo injects work perfect .
I will test those games when i get home and report back .

Well, it does work for neek2o, Overjoy noticed the cIOS calls after we noticed the games were broken again, maybe he has done something different to fix it and it works in D2X too...or am i thinking to simple?

No Etheboss, that old ap protection just detects an opening request on /dev/usb2.
Tintin and all ubisoft games have always worked with sneek because that path doesn't exist at all.
I think Overjoy broke them after adding multi nand support in neek2o (If I'm not wrong /dev/usb2 let you access nand2).
In d2x the same path let you access usb devices and that check is there since the dawn of time. ;)

BTW hi guys, I was on vacation. :ha:

I did get your PM but I had tried that compile of d2x when fix94 first put it out and it never worked for me.
However, just so I understand what you are doing, please tell me if I understood you correctly:
- You are using the "rev17-like" compile of d2x-v7
- When you install it you are specifying slot 245 and choosing IOS38 as base
- what is this rev9???

If you have time to test some or all of the games above, I would really appreciate it.

Strange problem loading games from nand and emunand:

I just "enhanced" a friend's Wii with the same homebrew setup I have on my on Wii. I installed d2x v9beta49 with bases 56 & 57, on 249 and 250, respectively. I made a fresh nand dump from his Wii using USB Loader GX and placed it in my own hard drive for testing. Launching disc games seems to work fine but nand and emunand are hit and miss. Some games (even from real nand) will launch fine, while others just get stuck on a black screen and eventually send me back to the loader.

After tinkering a while, I used DopMii to update all of his IOS's to the latest versions in NUS. His SM is already at 4.3U, just like mine. The only significant difference between his Wii and mine is that his has a broken optical drive and that it is one of the newer ones with a boot1 version that does not allow installation of bootmii, so I installed Priiloader on it. It does, however, have GCN ports. Mine is one of the launch Wii's.

I tried many things and eventually got nowhere. Does anybody have a clue what could be wrong?

I'm interested in hearing more about this r17 cIOS if N64 games can be run off this nd don't black screen then I'm gonna have to give this a go...
(I guess I install cIOS r17 then dump Nand, open Nand dump in showmiiwads and adjust the slot then make WAD).

Also while nand/emunand are mentioned as being hit and miss I hope someone can confirm something for me cause I also have big problems with it...

Can anyone launch VC/WW off emunand which is on the SD card?
Because I can't if the emunand is on SD card, only working if the emunand is on usb.
(I'm using wiiflow and reported the issue as wiiflow issue but I wanted to make sure its not a d2x issue. Everyone I have spoken to about this seems to use usb not SD so perhaps somebody here who has emunand on SD can help me.)

I have been using d2x final v8 and wiiflow for a long time with no SD emunand functionality working.

Appreciate any info about your own setups if working, just so I can confirm its a wiiflow and not d2x problem.

Well v8 off d2x is'nt the latest. You should try d2x v9

Please understand that majora's mask is'nt working with d2x emunand. ( yet )
