I have updated my 3ds to 4.3.0-10 occasionally and my ak2i is sleeping for almost two weeks. Have you got any news on it?

Why does it take so much time for ak2i team to release a patch?
The team behind ak2i should spend more time just becase so many ak2i users are wait for this patch.

Don't be surprised. This happens all the time. I'd say this has been about 2 weeks now? Perhaps a bit more. I'm seriously contemplating updating my 3DS as I'm tired of waiting.

Besides, I have 4 other DS units I can play this Acekard on.

First read this to see how carts run on the DSi and 3DS.
http://hackmii.com/2010/02/lawsuit-coming-in-3-2-1/

The number of games they can use is limited. First it has to be a game from before the DSi came out (sometime in earlier 2008). Second even then not all games can be used. Third, lots of flash carts use various game headers, and they get blocked over time, so a lot of the game headers that could have been used are checked to too big of an extent now for older carts to fake properly.

The AK2i is an older cart and isn't using more flexible methods that newer carts like the DSTwo use. So since there's a small number of games they can pose as, they don't want to release too many updates because if all the ones they can use get blocked, they're fucked. So while they used to update quickly, they don't anymore, and we think it's because there's just a small number left and if they did one update for each firmware update they'd run out too quickly.

I just can not understand the r4 clone, such as r4i gold has released the patch within several hours.

Carts have differing complexities of chips they use. Some carts built using cheaper parts can't take updates as easily as others. The R4i Gold carts you see updating often are ones built better than the AK2i.

Which is why I'm considering purchasing one. AK2i updates seem to be pointless. By the time you have you updated the FW , Big N releases another update blocking it.
