So lately I got my hands on a wii, and the must have games for the system I hadn't already played before, skyward sword...xenoblade...last story...DKC returns...aaaand Pandora's Tower.

Now don't get me wrong, I played Pandora for a good couple of hours, and even beat a few bosses, but the game really isn't compelling for me. It's got a pretty great concept that's let down by some ok-ish execution, overall flat anime characters and a battle system that sort of gets on your nerves after a while. And on top of that the graphics really suck hardcore in certain places, this is even more noticeable after playing Skyward and DKC:R which did great things with the tech.

Anyone else share these views? I just feel like out of the 'rainfall' games, Pandora's tower is the real weak link.

Or maybe I should play it through and persevere right to the end.

The plot really gets more interesting as you press on, as the religious avoidance of meat eating really plays into the conflict. I personally found it fascinating. Other things start happening as well, but I won't spoil it. (Not done yet, but I'm on the last set of towers.)

Have you tried both styles of controls? I personally play with the Classic Controller over the remote.

Hmm...I might have to just carry on then...

And no I've not actually, I hear it's a lot better in some aspects, but I would've thought the whole pointing the chain where you want it to go thing would surely be easier on a wiimote?

I actually found pointing more difficult, personally. With the classic controller, you move the chain sight with the right stick. Give the setup a try and see if it gets any better. If nothing else, play through for the plot! ^_^ There have been several games I've suffered through just because they had great storylines.

I thought the graphics were quite poor for a wii game and occasionally the chain got on my nerves. Sometimes it seemed like there was a little delay on it, but overall I enjoyed the game. Elena got on my nerves though

Always moaning near the start of the game. You go out, put your life on the line and all she can do is sit there bitching about not eating the thing that will stop her transforming. So ungrateful, should have been a conversation option to say, "fine, don't eat it, turn to a monster".

it's ok but it gets really boring and repetitive after playing 4-5 towers you just keep doing the same shit over and over. it's also stingy with it's drops making it really difficult to craft the good equips. i give it 5/10

The puzzle solving for each tower is rather unique. Granted similar puzzles are done twice, once for the early towers and once for the later, with the final Light and Dark towers being one big puzzle. (That's where I'm stuck.) For the drops, did you know that you can aim the chain at different parts of enemies to get different items? Once I figured this out, collecting items for upgrades wasn't all that bad. Of course, to each his own.

yes i did know it's still stingy on the drops though it doesnt always give you it than you have to run around finding meat as well and get back to the bitch than go back in and try to get it again which is really annoying.

I started playing, unlocked the dark and light towers, but stopped when I got some other new games to play. I think I was just forcing myself to play it, tbh. I might pick it up again and continue playing if I get the time, but I think it was the most over-hyped and overrated game of the Rainfall trilogy (not that Rainfall applied to me). The Metacritic scores are really representative of how the 3 games compare, IMO.

I'm really tempted to just sell it off, but feel I should hold on to it, if only because it'll become one of those 'rare' nintendo games like Baten Kaitos and Tales of Symphonia on GC.

That's my logic for keeping Xenoblade Chronicles.

Regarding Pandora's Tower, I wasn't too impressed by it and lost interest in it pretty quickly. On the whole, I was underwhelmed by the 'Rainfall' games in general. The games weren't bad but garnered hype I presume due to the lack of RPGs on the Wii.
