Steam Summer Sale confirmed

For PC gamers, Christmas comes twice a year. Once in the winter, and once in the summer. I’m talking, of course, about Steam sales. During these periods, gamers can get a lot of games without paying much at all. Bundle packs, individual titles, classic games and very new ones. Sometimes it feels like everything is on sale.


Unfortunately this year, there has been no summer sale. June has come and gone. July has already started, and nothing but the usual daily deals have shown up. Amazon has come out swinging with some deals that rival the ones we’re used to on Steam. But everyone is still wondering whether or now Valve still plans on putting on their usual sale. Well I can finally answer this with a definite “yes.”
MikeBlaszczak posted a very brief message on the official forums yesterday, which confirmed the existance of a summer sale. He simply said: “We are planning a sale sometime this summer. Hope that helps!”

Man the last sale during Xmas was wicked! I picked up a bundle of all GTA games ever made for the PC for $10.

I hope this coincides with some sort of announcement about Half-Life...feels like I've been waiting half my life...

You'd rather buy 4 mediocre games then all the awesomeness that's on Steam? For shame.

I'd rather buy the amazing (often for charity) items that Bungie sells on Bungie Day. Why would I wait until Bungie Day to buy a Halo game? Sense, your post makes none.
