FinalFantasyXIII-3_rumor_MAV_01.jpg

When asked if whether Final Fantasy XIII would be a focus at the the upcoming Final Fantasy 25th Anniversary event, he (Motomu Toriyama) replied, "The [FFXIII-2] Lightning download content had an ending that left a feeling mystery and hope. The day when the meaning of this will come to light is not too far off."

Thought XIII-2 was the end?
After watching the ending I certainly knew it was coming, but will anyone buy a potential XIII-3?
Many of you may not find this interesting, but the ones who do, What do you think?

Considering how much hate XIII-2 got, it's pretty damn surprising they'd even consider 3. I never had any problem with XIII-1 though. I dunno what all the fuss was about. It's a solid title, for an FF game. Never beat it since I generally play RPGs for the story, and I certainly wasn't going to play for the gameplay...
Dunno how XIII-2 ended so I really can't comment much else on if 3 would be good or bad.

I think overall the fans want a new world with new characters though.

If there will be a FFXIII-3... I'm gonna scream with happiness. The ending left me feeling like shit. I loved it. I wanna know what happens next, so I would definately buy it!

XIII had a great storyline but you couldn't deviate from it at all. The game was 100% story
XIII-2 had a blehh story which could be completely sidetracked until you want to actually do it.

Both were ok games, but both were are fault for the opposite reasons.
Nothing but story - Everything but Story

Mix them together and hopefully XIII-3 will be perfect

XIII got a lot of hate, but gets some solid respect for being an at least somewhat decent game at this point.
XIII-2 got even more hate due to just not being that great. I haven't played it, but from what I gather, the redeeming qualities are pretty few here.

If this trend continues, XIII-3 will simply be poop. I can't believe how much SE is leeching this though. There were a number of better FF titles that they could have leeched like this, but haven't even gotten a simple remake. I can't understand how this stuff is decided. Hell, instead of leeching one of the more sub-par FF games for all its barely worth, how about just giving us a genuinely good game that isn't stationed on the shaky foundation of two previous titles? Oh wait, that's not how SE does things.

Bloddy SE, just focus on versus first!
That game aint happening. Its been waaaay too long
I heard they're taking too long because they're using the luminous engine, i'm sure it'd be a success if it came out: Great gameplay, seemingly great story, great graphics, kh battle system!
Many great games go through development hell, heck it took too long for BBS to release, but it was great and definitely not vaporware.

First XIII, XIII-2 and XIV aren't as good as the others in the series but now they are continuing the XIII-2. It didn't even sell that well I guess it might not be that expensive to make it since they have a lot of the things already developed but still. Plus the DLC and other things make it more questionable.

The problem with FF XIII-2 wasn't the gameplay but the shitty storyline. Most of the actual interesting story details have been imprisoned in the fragments you collect during the game.
