Hey, guys.
Sorry if this is already posted elsewhere, but i tried searching everywhere.

How do you use cheats on DIOS MIOS, i've been trying with usbloader gx and dios-mios booter, and it doesn't work.

Can somebody help?

the cheat codes(GCT file) must be in the same folder as the game

USB:\games\GAMEID

Most loaders store the gct files in one location like cfg for example stores all gct files in USB:usb-loader\codes\

Not sure how GX does it though

I'm trying with diosmios booter

For example im using Shadow The Hedgehog (GUPE8P.gct)

usb:\games\GUPE8P.gct
usb:\games\GUPE8P\GUPE8P.gct
usb:\games\GUPE8P\codes.gct
sd:\games\GUPE8P.gct

to no avail, i'm trying with other games, with same results, no cheats yet.

Apart from that, with the n64 VC games in nand emu i can't use ocarina, any help on this would be appreciated. :)

I ended up using dios mios booter by FIX94, and putting the cheats in sd/codes by default and they all work fine.
all the usb loaders I've tried will not boot the games with gct cheats.....in ANY folder, SD or USB wise.....

thanks for sharing, i'll try it tomorrow.

also, when i put the gct as "usb:\games\(GAMEID)\CODES.gct", dios mios booter crashes with an exception, no matter what codes am I trying to enable.

more info to come.

Did you activate any of the codes before saving it as a gct file?

Not sure how gx handles it but i know in cfg loader that you download the text file for the codes then select the codes you want and then save the gct file with those codes you just selected activated.

perhaps your just saving the gct file with no codes activated.

I have it working from the latest dios mios booter and DM 2.0.4

Also its working from cfg mod 36 as well but i have to manually move the gct file because it still saves it under its default location of usb:\usb-loader\codes.
That has been fixed though with mod 37 i believe i just havent updated yet to try it out.

I selected the codes with usbloader gx, then manually moved and renamed the gct file, and loaded it with dm booter r26
I'll try with cfg mod 37, and post my results.
Thanks for the feedback.

I would think the loader should have named the file for you.

Maybe that's what is wrong that file gct file name and the game of the game folder aren't identical.

Also are you turning on the ocarina cheats within the loader?
I follow these steps

1. Select codes in cfg usb loader
2: Copy gct to usb:\games\GAMEID\GAMEID.gct (not literally GAMEID, it's just for example)
3: Try to load from dm booter, enabling ocarina.
or
4: Try to load from cfg usb loader.

In all cases I have ocarina cheats enabled.

Same result: EXCEPTION DSI OCURRED.

I don't get it. :(

Try it with the latest beta of cfg which can be found below. Its supposed to copy the gct file to the proper location for you.
