You need to post more details.

What system menu your on.
What do you have installed modding wise ( cios, bootmii, priiloader ext...)

why you restored your nand

Woah woah hold up...you downloaded another Wii's Nand?

Err...If I remember correctly, the nand for the Wii is console specific (as is most nand dumps I would suspect), as it's signed by your Wii's privacy keys. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that's right.

Now that I think about it... He shouldn't even be capable of doing that - isn't BootMii refusing to FLASH with NAND images that are lacking keys or are embedded with keys that don't match?

The OP will have to describe the procedure in more detail - what software was used, in what order etc., and if a stupid Youtube tutorial was involved, post it so that we can shun it as always.

@[member='marck']: I'm sorry... but, I shouldn't of helped you in the first place. Especailly, if I knew that you were going to brick your console.

Here's the original post, which I replied to:
Hi its me again and i need help on restoring my wii back to nand i have the file and all but when i use it on the gamecube it gives me this error "RestoreMii , Nand ID:ecdc1095 Checking boot2...
Bootmii not found, too dangerous to continue! if your sd is corrupt or restore is interrupted, you will be unable to boot to fix it.If you are sure you want to do this, konami.otherwise , press [z] to give up."

So there is no way to fix this awww shooot
If you don't have your original NAND, you don't have the keys, and if you don't have the keys, you need a NAND Chip or whole Motherboard transplant, and this is connected with costs likely exceeding the cost of your Wii as it is. You can sell it for spare parts.

Simply use bootmii-boot2 the restore the backup you made before flashing the downloaded nand image.
If you did not make a backup go and pay your idiots tax to the nearest wii dealer.
If you have a backup but do not have bootmii-boot2 you might get at slight tax reduction by the way of "deadly foez" (spelling to avoid bothering him for now)

Theres no way he flashed a nand he downloaded to his wii.

Bootmii wouldn't allow it and would even tell you the backup is from another wii.

Maybe he installed a different system menu that what he was currently on and didn't have the ios file needed to go along with it.

Need a lot more information from the OP.

I think bootmii-ios nand restore should make it clearer that is belongs in the really desperate measures departement.
Like voluntary infliction of severe chemical or radiation poisoning. Never a good idea but in rare cases a viable alternative.

If you purchase a stand alone motherboard from a reputable seller, then you should not have any problems. Any wii dvd drive will work with any wii motherboard. Bluetooth and wifi modules are interchangable with any wii motherboard also.

I haven't been gaming for such a long time. Been mostly busy with sleep, hardware tinkering and checking GBAtemp frequently.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Hope you've had a good morning.

It's going alright thanks :) I know what you mean with gaming time. It's precious where I can get it these days.

There's also this thing where I'm hyperfocused at night and cannot get to sleep.

@Maximumbeans, Indeed. I've been working on getting this Infecutus chip to work on my PS2. But after soldering, I realised that a plastic piece was missing from the power ribbon cable to the power and eject buttons.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Now I could go with soldering the contacts from the cable to the connector on the mobo, but doesn't sound like a good permanent solution.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
Man, that's beyond my brain  I'm no good with hardware for now. I'd like to get into hardmods in future though
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Maybe start practice soldering. Get a cheap-ass soldering iron and follow some good YouTube tutorials.

  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Least my experience has gotten better than over a decade ago. My iron would constantly bump into components and break them.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
Sounds good. I actually did soldering but like 16 years ago for school so uuuuh probably rusty haha
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Same here. I did soldering at school from a teacher who I honestly liked since he had plenty of good electronics experience.
