Cold Stream, a popular fan made campaign, as well as the remainder of the original Left 4 Dead campaigns, are coming to Left 4 Dead 2 on July 24th.

While PC users may be familiar with Cold Stream already, it's also coming to the Xbox 360 version, and the original campaigns are now officially coming as well. This means Death Toll, Dead Air, Blood Harvest, and Crash Course will be playable with Left 4 Dead 2's enhancements.

It's easy to assume that the PC version will be free like their past DLC while the Xbox 360 version will cost you approximately 560 points, if their past DLC is anything to go by.

Basically killing the need to own the first left 4 dead? That's an example of DLC done right.

Unless you bought the first L4D in which case you feel like a major sap for buying it asap and then buying the sequel asap too. Basically I paid double to get the same content as someone who only bought L4D2. I love Valve but imo, this is inexcusable and will always be a bump in my otherwise glowing view of them.

Yeah, screw Valve. I paid all of $5 for the original Left 4 Dead and now it's obsolete!

Some people still play L4D over L4D2 because they are functionally different. They both require different strategy.

Also do you ever not complain? The news story could be "Nintendo sends out free consoles to everyone" and you'd complain that it wasn't available in the color black.

1.I don't buy anything in the color black unless there isn't a choice. 2. I wasn't complaining at all about this. I have yet to even play either left 4 dead. Thus this would save me some cash if i decide to buy the game.

Niiice. I'm waiting on a sale for L4D, then I will grab it!
Same here, I'm actually waiting for both to appear on sale since I keep hearing the 2 games are very different, and you might like L4D more than the successor.
Nice to see it's still supported at least

I got both of them for the PC for like $7.50 on sale. They'll probably be similarly price when this DLC is released.

The games are different but I'd definitely say L4D2 is better. The first one is only "different" because it lacks a lot more nuances compared to the second. The second adds melee weapons and different weapon types. The original only had pistols (eventually you got two pistols), a shotgun, a sniper, and an assault rifle. The second one has melee weapons, two different pistol types, and multiple types of sniper rifles, assault rifles, and shotguns, not to mention specialty weapons like the M60. They also offer more alternates for aid items instead of pills and medpacks, like adrenaline, defibs, and special ammo boxes.

EDIT: The second one also adds Chargers and Spitters to the special zombies which means new strategies to defeat them.

So around 7.5 euros here, nearly 10 USD :glare: But I wouldn't be surprised if they reduced the price further. Besides, via TF2 trading I can get it for the US price and even a little cheaper.

Nah, I disagree, As somebody who has put in over 1000+ hours, L4d1 was missing a lot of features that l4d2 added,
Honestly, They need to make a 3rd game by now, It's very hard to find good games now a days on PC.
