When will the price of External HDDs go down??

I wish I could've gotten the 1TB harddrive when they were a lot cheaper.

Not for a while, I remember reading something that said it would be two years after the flood when HDD prices will go back to what they were.

Get a 1TB HDD and an enclosure - presto, you have an external drive cheaper and likely of better quality than most "stock external drives"!

...you can pass the message on, it's not a really big secret. ;)

Actually most 1TB Internal HDDs are for desktop which means if I get an enclosure for it then it requires a Power adapter which I don't like because I will use it for movies. Prices of 2.5" 1TB External HDDs here are around $140

I think it will be at the end of this year, or somewhere in the begin of 2013, the will be the price of HDD's be at the same level as before the flooding. I thought I read somewhere an article about that the HDD production was resumed, but I don't know for sure where I did read that.

glad that I bought an external HDD two days before the flooding :P It was only € 74 for 2 tb :P

Trust me, the capacity and reliability is worth having that extra cable around. Even in the event of HDD failure, you still have a working enclosure - again, less costs.
