It runs everything I throw at it, and I plan on getting 4gb more RAM.

The CPU could be considered weak by some, but for gaming and normal tasks it's just fine all-around (as you've seen). More RAM won't hurt for future-proofing (with how bloated things are getting nowadays).

Agreed. In the future, I plan on getting an i5. Is the mobo temperature okay though? That's had me worried.

Nope, I have minecraft running, downloading something, have 15 tabs open (2 youtube) skype, 2 explorer windows, and 2 steam windows open. I think I am also backing up my computer right now lol.

That's quite a high temperature for your motherboard -- check that your case has proper airflow and that there isn't anything getting in the way of said airflow.

Otherwise, I think you know your system is fine.

The reason it's handling everything well is that 4:3 monitor you're using. A widescreen 1900x1200 monitor would instantly show you where your computer is weaker for a gaming machine...but you know that too I'm sure.

Nope, I have minecraft running, downloading something, have 15 tabs open (2 youtube) skype, 2 explorer windows, and 2 steam windows open. I think I am also backing up my computer right now lol.

considering ur running what you stated above then no worries its normal . but note that the temp when idle should be around 30-45 atmost.

Yeah, I do know that. I have no plans for a bigger monitor Andand hot air is being pushed out the side flaps when I'm gaming, I can feel it.

I have an i5 2500k and absolutely love it. I don't think you'll be disappointed if/when you do the upgrade. I'm at 4.2GHz with temps right around 30 °C when idle (and that's just using the motherboards auto overclock function). You should certainly look into an aftermarket cooler for the CPU. Myself as well as tons of others can highly recommend the CoolerMaster Hyper 212+.

hot air blowing is normal too when the pc is at load you don't have to worry much . in my place its summer and summers are really hot here so idling for is like 60-70 and when running bf3 and cod mw3 it goes to whooping 110 degrees. so consider yourself that you are in a better situation

Sounds like you need some liquid cooling.

I have an akasa already sadly, oh well. I idle at 28 at 3.3GHz so yeah. Yours is better

Two things make me feel uneasy about the build. First is the fact that you say you feel hot air being pushed out. Second is the motherboard temperature. In my head that translates to heat pockets due to bad airflow, and the last time I met a computer that did that... the HDDs fried (the motherboard was an interesting brown colour too).

To use my own PC as comparison, CPU (i5-2500K @4.2Ghz) is at 37C, graphics (GTX560 Ti) is at 41C (peaks at 60 when playing Skyrim), HDDs are all under 30C, and my motherboard is at 45C (used to be lower, but then I put in liquid cooling). That's after 9 hours of being on with a v-scan running, downloads in the background, movies on one screen and Skyrim on the other. Any higher than this and I'd be worried that the fans aren't doing their job. Also, the fans at the back feel fairly cool, and they're on the lowest speed setting (front fans on medium).
