Gaming So, im buying a Wii. Which of these 8 versions should i get.

Well, on my local videogames store, (think of them as the mexican Gamestops) dropped the price of all their Wii's from $3000 pesos (230 USD taxes included) to $2000 pesos (150 USD taxes included) until May 1st. So i decided to give it a shot, since these kind of price drops are very rare here.

I really need it to have Gamecube ports.

Also, i had some questions:
I knew that some new Wii's can't run backup discs, would that happen with any of these?
Which version of those do you think it would be the best? the one with more value?

Also, should i get one new? or should i go for a used one for $100 and extra accesories?

Black Wiis with GC ports: Cannot play DVD Backups.
Black Wiis without GC ports: Cannot play even GC games
White wiis: LU64+ cannot play DVD Backups either.

Get an earlier Wii (white), be careful however, it must be in good condition as the very first released (bootmii at boot2 capable) tends to overheat if you leave Wii Connect 24 on.

Most of those listed in the shopping cart you posted may be too new to read DVD backups or even Gamecube

Yes xD, that's Mexican pesos (150 USD).

I think i'm going for either the Black Ops version, or one of the Mario Kart versions. The Black OPS one, includes the game and the original Headset, and the Mario kart one includes the game, and the wheel. I could get some money out of those accesories and games.

Get the Black Ops or Mario Kart bundle (I can't believe these are still sold and at the same price as the horizontal Wii). I'd go with the Mario Kart bundle since Mario Kart is a pretty fun game. Wish the Best Buy where I got my Wii had the Vertical Wii's in stock...

I would not buy a Wii now. Wait for Wii U and if you can afford it, they will certainly drop the price of the Wii at the same time.

Yes, i tought about that too, but...

1.- The Wii U is still months away.
2.- The Wii U It's gonna be around $250 - $300 USD, plus, here in Mexico, is gonna be much more expensive Around $500 (Its usually the double).
3.- The Wii has Gamecube retrocompatibility, and i never had a Gamecube.
4.- For being here in Mexico, i got it very very cheap.(Also, i already sold all the extras (the COD Black Ops game, the headset, and both Wii Sports games), and got $60 for all xD, so technically i paid $90 for a new wii.)

ha ha thats why you go with amozon.. i got mine the next day. an paid 20$ less for it, brand new. ( this was three years ago right befor 4.3 came out.
screw BB i hope they go down like circuit city did.but fall alot harder.

Amazon is $180, I got mine at BB for $140. I wish I thought things through completely at p.o.p. since I later on wanted to play some GameCube games, but alas, the missing ports prevent such from happening. Hopefully Devolution gets released soon, which should make the need for cube ports moot. I could also hit up some people I know to donate their broken Wii's and I can perform surgery on my Wii to add the ports.
Vladimir, you got a really sweet deal on your Wii; 3 games and accessories for $150USD? That's amazing.

mybe today it is.. but when i got mine i paid 180$ that included next day air. an also got that cheap ass sports crap that came with it.( tenns racket,baseball bat.ect.) so in all for a 200+ with every thing. i paid 135-140 just for the wii. but who cares. trust me i'm an amozon junkie.leave me to search for awhile i can find any thing.( gamecube games for 1$, wii games for 10. ect..)damn that controller an mem card for the raffle wasn't even 20$ together.( next day shippment came out to 22$.)
