an email from Nintendo saying that I'm eligible for the Coin Collection and to stay tuned with details on how to confirm my order.

I'm very pleased

So all you Europeans if you haven't done so already, register those RPG's asap!

I saw that yesterday, and man, they look really awesome... It sucks that I don't own a Wii, otherwise I'd get all those games (they're awesome rpg's) and get the coins too. D=
Although it kinda sucks that it's like the Kid Icarus thingy, you need to input the codes now, if you already did before, you're screwed.

Exactly. If you already have 2 (or even 1) of the 3 games you'd be tempted to buy the last one in order to claim the coins (which can be made for MUCH less than £30 RRP of the game). It's tempting people to buy games that they wouldn't normally buy / were borderline on whether to buy or not.

Exactly. If you already have 2 (or even 1) of the 3 games you'd be tempted to buy the last one in order to claim the coins (which can be made for MUCH less than £30 RRP of the game). It's tempting people to buy games that they wouldn't normally buy / were borderline on whether to buy or not.

Unless you're like me and bought them regardless - it's a nice little incentive I suppose.
I didn't get the limited editions of the games though despite their uniqueness (if you want to call them that) - just the standard edtions.

They're entirely fair promotions, they incentivise games you probably were interested in to begin with.
They already held a contest where you had to do a short Let's Play video about Xenoblade, and the prize would be copies of the other two JRPGs.

Exactly. They are incentives for buying the games. Some people who may have pirated them have probably now reconsidered and gone out and bought them instead.
Also, the let's play thing is different - I don't know the details but from what you just said; they gave away 2 copies of a game. 2 copies. About £60 worth. That's nothing to a massive company like Nintendo compared to the advertising they get with the competition.

My point is (as I said in my first post) that this is definitely a promotion designed to make money, not an act of generosity.
