Hey guys,

I wrote earlier in the beats thread asking if Shure 535s with Ipod volume/track control would be the best.
I'm quite fussy with my music tracks. I switch tracks til I find the right song for the moment of day.
I know there's the "Why don't you just make a playlist with all your favourite songs and delete the ones I don't listen to?"
My answer to that is I already do have in them in playlists and I do listen to all of them but I like to listen to songs in the order I want depending on my mood. I often change the order of the songs I want to listen to *shrugs* I'm like that lol

I don't think I'd want to spend anymore than $500 AUD. Already I've found a seller in my area to sell a brand new one at $419 and I'll have to import the ipod cable attachment from USA. That's amounting to $505 and I'm okay with that. That took a while to find an okay price for myself.

I'm wondering if there are any alternatives that are better than these (or equal) that cost less and have that ipod capability.
So... help please? :D

.....
why not this?
http://dicksmith.com...adphone-adaptor

LOL I hope you read that as in the whole 535 and ipod cable to $505.

Also thanks mercluke. I never knew that existed LOL *facepalm* I'll go check out my local Dick Smith store. Wow... that's looking at $419 + $20 = $439. Hmm not bad if I buy the shure 535.

Do you have this cable or know the quality of it?

not too sure to be honest, just remember seeing it at work once :P

Haha thanks for showing me that. I just read a couple of reviews and so far its bad quality in the cable. It mostly frays or the sound stops after a couple of weeks. Shame.

Well I found another seller selling both the cable needed with the Shure 535 for $479. Hmm...

A tad expensive but I'm happy with my purchase. Blocks out probably 85-90% outside noise. If I dont have music running, everything is pretty much a murmur. The CBL cable longer than I expected but thank goodness there is no memory sleeve near the ear connectors because it was frustrating with the stock cable.

they shure look pricey

Shure is man. It's amazing that people have not seen an IEM before. I was walking around in the city and people looking at me funny. Maybe I look too suspicious since I was in my work suit, you know, the whole black and white gear ahah secret agent style. BTW I may look into the adapter you told me about if I consider getting that Baldur MK2 cable ahah

Holy moly. I thought you were considering spending $500 USD on a headphone adapter at first. I was like :wtf:.

Yeah that came out all wrong. I had to quickly rewrite that part again lol It's a letdown when people spaz and go why spend so much when I could have gotten a better IEM at a cheaper price and I say but it doesnt have BUTTONS for the ipod lol Yes well aware of the Westones...the limited edition red drew me to it plus its red, one of my fav colours XD

I need clarification here. You're spending $500 AUD. (Approximately $517 USD.) On a pair of....headphones? :wtf:

They have gold-tipped connectors…

That too as well as they are called in ear monitors not headphones. I'm very certain I wrote that in the title :D
I dont like headphones. It makes the area of my ear hot and sweat too much.
I'm sure you will one day spend a lot on something you like :) I shure did :D
I know I dont have a very good setup to maximise the experience of 535LTD (needs a Cowon J3 or a Cowon player with a Baldur MK2 cable at least) but still I love it.
At least I'm not like those other music lovers who spends on those 1k worth of IEMs because I wouldn't since I don't own a music studio haha

Also at least I won't look ridiculous as those who own Beats By Dre headphones :D

I love my music. But spending $500 on a pair of headphones… I can understand ~$150… but $500…

Let's say when you work really hard and you know it, you deserve something great. Enjoy life. I don't feel guilty about spending that. It was on sale and it's limited edition of the 535 so why not :)

I can understand that, How many years is it going to last you?

As long as I like it to last. If it fails prematurely, there is warranty. Even when that expires, you can contact Shure about it and something will be worked out if its product is faulty. If it breaks on my behalf, that's just my bad luck. I'll look for another decent pair.
Who knows, there are too many variables to mention that can prevent me from keeping my 535s alive forever.

Those include triple drivers being two woofers and a tweeter making for accurate sound reproduction accross the audible frequency range.

Another consideration is the durability even though I have the entry level shure IEMs have had them since February and the only sign of wear are the L and R printing but by now I can feel which goes where. The cheaper "disposable" buds would have lost sound by the third month or so. Still if anything goes wrong then no problem with the 2 year protection policy from the retailer purchased.

In the end I gotta admit that red color looks nice never even knew that it was offered but then again I haven't been keeping up. If a blue color was offered am hoping to purchase those someday.
