Bioware has just released new Mass Effect 3 multiplayer DLC for consoles and PC, and they'll be running a promotion from April 13-16 that will allow players to pick up an additional Reserves Pack, "containing one new Resurgence character." Unfortunately, PS3 players won't get the freebie, since it seems Bioware and Sony are unable to hash out the particulars of the promotion.

"We continue to work with them to find a compromise, but until then, Sony will not allow us to run the same Multiplayer Challenges on the PlayStation 3 that we run on Xbox 360 and PC," said Eduardo Vasconcellos on the official Bioware blog.

Bioware hasn't been specific about what issues Sony is having with the promotion, nor have they mentioned any type of raincheck for PS3 fans missing out on the event.

The multi-player should have been included from day one, not released later. Maybe there wasn't enough room left on the disc because of the extra, to be paid for later, Disc Locked Content already being stored on it...

I miss the days when you'd have time to beat a game before the DLC came out.
It's was over a month since the game launched, ofc most people have finnished it by now.
The multiplayer DLC came at the right time.

It's been a month since the game launched, but it's only been one day since a patch came out to fix a problem that was keeping many people from even starting the game.

Come on, Sony, is this really so hard to work out? Or did you get angry, throw your arms in the air, and just pout for the rest of the negotiations?

What problem? So far I haven't heard or experienced any kind of bugs regarding playability of Mass Effect 3, if server downtime doesn't count..

Well on the real topic, it's quite sad that Mass Effect 3 on the PS3 side is having a few problems. Hopefully they manage to make an agreement and the rest of us can enjoy the promos

Some people were incredibly butthert over the fact that their "custom-Sheps" didn't import correctly aesthetically (data from previous games transfers just fine) and refused to play the game. My personal solution would have been either "my Shep changed his/her hair some time in the past 6 months" or "my Shep spent some time at/awayfrom the beach in the past 6 months"...but then again, I just used the default Shep...

My Shepard was slightly customized, but she was pretty much the default in ME1. She looked much better as the default Shepard in ME3.

So Sony won't allow them to run the same promotion with them as on the 360 and PC? So with Sony any DLC promos have to be exclusive or they won't allow them?
