Get ready to untuck your Tails from between your legs -- Sonic and his trusty sidekick are returning for their final episodic adventure in May! On May 15th, PSN gets a taste of the blue blur, followed closely on XBLA a day later on May 16th. PC and Mobile versions will follow later, with Retina Display support promised for iOS, and Tegra 3 support for everyone else. A Sega representative confirmed the information today at PAX East.

Information so fresh, it hasn't even hit the official site yet. PAX East continues through April 8th.

Seeing as there won't be a WiiWare version this time I'll likely wait for the PC version (and reviews) to come first.
Although I do certainly trust that this will be a much better than that the first botched episode.

Oh, I do remember hearing in a video about the game though, that PC and Windows Live Mobile will use cloud saving meaning you can play on one device and continue on the other. That makes it seem likely they'll be released on the same day.

"final episodic adventure..."

Oh, guess we won't be seeing more of Knuckles ever again. I've about had it with this series, man. To be honest, I was hoping to see if this series would follow down how the first three games (and S3&K) were styled.

And I personally wanted to hear more about the Super Emeralds...

So this is the final part of Sonic 4 now, and not just pending sales/fan reaction?

It seems like the Sonic 4 "episodic gaming" experiment has been pretty much hobbled. Oh well, you know what they say about the best laid plans of hedgehogs and eggmen...

No Tegra 2 support?

I guess I won't be playing this until it comes out on PC.

We want Sonic Adventure 3 not that sidescrolling shitzorzx.
Actually they did...which is why they did this and Generations.

A lot of fans really hate the SA games.

I always had the impression that it would be just two parts.

I don't know. With downloadable episodes, that gives me the impression that there will be (at the very least) three episodes. Any less than that and it comes across as incomplete (to me, at least).

um no

We want sidescrolling that isn't shit. I'm really tired of Dimps making all the 2D Sonic games, they have long overstayed their welcome. None of their games is up to the quality of Sonic Team's 2D games. It's a shame that Sonic Team hasn't made a 2D game since 1994. And the 2D levels in Generations were made by Sonic Team, hence why they were so awesome compared to the shit that Dimps pulls out of their ass every year.

Even if they did make episode 3, I doubt Knuckles would be playable. Tails isn’t playable in this game, which blows. Episode 2 looks as bad as 1 did, from the gameplay videos I have seen, so I’m going to skip it, plus it isn’t for the wii either, which is a dumb. The wii version sold the most, even when you combined the sales on the ps3 & 360, it still sold more. I guess Sega hates money.

Its not on the Wii due to terrible size restrictions that Nintendo has imposed. So blame Nintendo.

“Our intention was to release Episode 2 on Wii as well. But, there’s a limitation on the size of the game you can release on WiiWare. Because Sonic 4 Episode 2 has cutscenes, and the graphics aren’t 2D pre-rendered images – it’s all 3D – all those things together made the game too big to be released as a WiiWare title. So, unfortunately, this time we had to give up on releasing it on the Wii platform.” - SEGA rep

Not sure to why its not on 3DS though but I reckon it'll find a way onto Wii U.
