Yes, I know it's a far-fetched dream, but who cares?

My name is Kid Game Designer, and I'm going to be copying my introductions from my blog: kidgamedesigner.blogspot.com because I'm lazy. XD


My name on this forum will be "Kid Game Designer" until I can reveal my full name without my parents freaking out. I am (currently) a twelve year old that LOVES games, especially RPG ones from Nintendo. I also have a blog that will keep my portfolio. This blog will (hopefully) be about my adventures so I can be a game designer.

I can only see four outcomes from this blog:

1. My parents will find out before the age of 18 and ground me for building a web site when I'm strictly am not supposed too.
2. I will not become a game designer, thus destroying the purpose of this blog.
3. I will be become a game designer, and people hiring me can see all of my posts from 12+.
4. I will rage quit.

#3 is what I want, but will least likely happen. #1 is what I most certainly don't want, but will most likely happen. Oh well. Let's see how far this blog goes. I plan to post as much as possible about me and my "Gaming" plans. Don't expect this site to be much about game design yet, since I need 6 years to get my career focus in the correct path.

I just noticed something. This blog will probably not last 10 years. Eh, it'll be fun to try any ways, and I need to fill that portfolio as much as possible! I'll keep all my REAL game designing things in a category, don't worry game companies! Then again, let's hope that they will even encounter this site. XD

And also, I hope I won't be much of a troll on ya.

You seemed to have a Passion for games. In fact from reading your post, I have a hard time believing that you are a 12 year old.

I too am aiming to be a game designer, In fact I created games before, well I won't boast, since they were simple games, but it's a pretty hard job, it will take you days, probably weeks to make one piece of game HECK EVEN YEARS, even then the game is still considered amateur work.

From Coding to creating sprites, Objects, scripting events and action, AI, resource, Instances, sounds, Not to mention GUI, and Having to save and retry the game countless of times to detect bugs and make sure it works. it's not an easy job.

But still if you want to become one, I will gladly assist you in anyway I can, Well not for now, but maybe a few years from now, when I get my Degree in Computer science.


Still, that is way far from now and welcome to the temp! Feel free to ask anyone about anything.

Thanks for the compliment! Yeah, I've gotten the "YOU'RE A 12-YEAR OLD?!" comment before. I'm going to try my first project, and it's going to be an FE hack. Although I wonder how the heck I'll make the story line consistent with so many branches.... maybe I should start something easier? XD​

But I'm going to try to get some staff for the hack. I know for sure that I won't be able to do it by myself with all the hacking and graphical components....

Try to go for old console hacks, like the gba or the ones with easy gameplay.

Try to go for old console hacks, like the gba or the ones with easy gameplay.

Yeah it's GBA. I don't want to try DS in a while... it scares me.

...You're joking right? I've been browsing forums since I was 10. We have 10 year olds who browse the forums now. GTFO if they aren't allowed.

Also, his idea isn't "silly". It's something he aspires to be, whether it happens or not all depends on him. So...GTFO.

Ok...let me rephrase that. I was actively posting on 3 or 4 different forums at the age of 10. WE HAVE MULTIPLE MEMBERS HERE WHO POST THAT ARE AT THE AGE OF 10. GTFO.

Hey, when I was a kid I wanted to be a game designer, and you were right it's hard, But it's certainly MORE FUN if not just as fun making them than playing them, and guess what? I still want to be a game designer.

It's nothing wrong to have dreams you know.

Yes, I have been lurking these past few weeks. And are you saying that a twelve year old can't handle being on a forum without revealing addresses (both real and email), names, phone number, and not being kidnapped, raped, or murdered? It all depends on if a person's mature or not. I will leave that to your opinion, since you can probably guess my answer.

I think you will need a team for that and to get a team you need to do something big and interesting.

People should not be treated by their age on the internet, they should be treated by their maturity.
It just so happens that alot of 12 year olds seem to be very immature, but not all.
