"The Wii U version has so much more to offer ... no other platform can do what the Wii U can do. If you love [Xbox] 360 games, you are not used to being in a world where you have this new interface. But once you get used to that, you imagine the possibilities; there are some opportunities that are just not possible on any platform that does not have that device.

I don’t want to give spoilers away on some of things we are thinking of or things we have actually implemented already, but a lot of cool opportunities with that device that are going to make a very unique and compelling experience on that platform. We have given a lot of attention. I think it will not be too long [before] Nintendo opens up their kimono a little bit more about that platform and where it is going, we will be there right with them talking about how Aliens is using it." - Randy Pitchford

It would be nice if they bought their other forthcoming titles to it, though I can't say I'm that keen on the next Brothers In Arms as I loved the first 3 so much its a shame that they're taking that direction with the series.

Oh cool, they sound like they've found some creative use for the controller.

I don't particularly like the genre, but I guess every console needs a Spess Muhreen game.

It's like Nintendo is actually focusing on gamers this time!
Lets hope it stays that way and all these announced games don't end up canceled.
Newsflash from 15 minutes ago! A credible source reports that Nintendo is doing too well with the development of their new system and decisions were made to use Unobtanium Discs as the storage medium, which will effectively increase the price of games by 500% and decrease the storage to 1Gb. Iwata had this to say:

Iwata said:
C'mon man, cut us some slack. We're Nintendo - whenever we do one thing right, we have to screw up two other things. Seeing that the WiiU is working out well so-far, we need to break something to keep up our image of innovators and experimenters. Wait, is this thing on-- GIVE ME THAT CAMERA!

Newsflash! Iwata may be sued for assaulting our cameraman. More on that in tonight's "The Good, The Bad and The Improbable", hosted by our favourite and one and only Jack Thompson! Stay tuned!

NO Nintendo. Swtich your focus back to families. Gamers are a dying breed. Family will live on forever.
United Soviet Nintendo Republic is the future.

No more inequality - Wii's for everyone! And confiscate and transport to me burn all the PS3's, 360'ties and PSP's you see on your way to THE NEXT LOGICAL STEP IN SOCIAL REVOLUTION!

Where is your answer? Not here mate, look at the clue again.

I dunno doesn't seem to do much else other than what the DS did and browsing internet easily...but then who the fuck browses the internet via a console?

Now if you could play the Wii U via the controller while someone else uses the telly, that would be great because anyone who has shared a house with a woman during the hours of UK soap time would now how tedious that is when you're desperate to play whatever "hot tits" Mario game Nintendo does.

Hadrian, watch E3 next time ;)

You can play entire games on the controller while someone uses the telly. That was one of the first features Nintendo showed off.

I don't remember much of it, there were some neat ideas but just like the Wii had neat ideas we'd just abandon it a couple years down the line for the old fashioned way to play games.

Still its day one buy for me just for what Nintendo has to offer, 3rd party software is just an added bonus.

Funny thing that the United Soviet Nintendo Republic is USNR. USN Republic. Get the drift? We're already there :creep:

Also why ask money for something? GIVE EVERYTHING FOR FREE! ALL THE GAMES FOR FREE!

Being serious, what Hadrian wrote on the subtitle is quite accurate: Who honestly thinks next gen wouldn't show something new?

Some games =/= all games. That's mainly the problem in showing off tech at E3 and the likes. Sure you have a working piece of equipment, but in the end running a game 1/1000 of the size of the real one is much less stressing on the optimizing and power usage. "Oh but it's a demo of the real one!". Gee thanks for the bugs on the real deal (which is usually released about 1-2 years after the announcement (regardless of the platform)). :3

EDIT: 1/1000 of a game meaning a single dungeon instead of a whole game. Imagine Zelda with one puzzle instead of 100

You don't seem to understand how the Wii U works. The console does all the processing, and everything shown on the controller screen is just video, streamed wirelessly from the console. It's not a matter of scale or whatever the devil you're talking about. And it's really, really easy for the developers to do. Here, Vigil can explain to you

6:46

10 minutes and two lines of code to make the entirety of Darksiders 2 run on the controller, portable style.

Yes, I know that. I also know that quite a few companies have let their promises go down in the drain with little notion regarding it. Kinda like GBA-GC compatibility (WORKS WONDERS FOR ALL!), PSP-PS3 compatibility (WORKS ON ALL TITLES) and so forth. Promises are nice, but in this case using a wireless method (obstacles make the signal worse and so forth) could be a limit. Not just obstacles but bandwidth. Kinda like why 54 mbps WiFi can download stuff only at a certain speed even though the bandwidth of the connection is 100/10.

But you are correct that the WiiU could work in the way.

Until we see the final version, my opinion is neutral and I'll be skeptical regarding the new "revolutionary" innovations (Motion+ comes to mind at first and then the possibly comparable Circle pad pro (while not being a must, is thought to be a must for a few games)). ;)

Well either way I am really hyped for E3, Nintendo is holding back on some big things. They have the potential to take the so called "core" gamer back as well as keep the "casual" interested.

You're not making sense. This is a feature directly built into the devkit that takes almost literally no effort for developers to implement. This is in no way comparable to any of the things you listed, especially because those require customers to have two pieces of hardware, You might as well be saying that you refuse to believe anyone will utilize the L button until the console comes out and we know for sure
