Ok, here's the deal. I really want to put to the test of adding the GC ports to one of those new wii's that does not have the GC ports.

Here's what I will do; If you send me your new wii (it has to be one without GC ports) I will add the GC ports to it. All you pay for is just the shipping, which will be between $10-$20 depending on how you send it.

There is no harm that can be done to your wii with me trying this. I just want to prove that it is possible. But as a fail safe, if I somehow ruin your wii (which just wont happen) then I will send you one of my working wii's in return and all of your data will still be in tact.

If you need more info then please ask here. If you really want to do it then just send me a PM and I will give you my shipping info. I will only do this for US users (unless you REALLY want to pay a lot more for shipping).

Get the word out. Ask anyone who may be interested. All I need is just the console itself, and an SD card in case I decide to make a fresh NAND backup before I mess with anything.

So for just the cost of shipping both ways you can get your new wii to have GC support from controllers and memory cards. Thats quite a great deal.

UPDATE: A few of us were talking about the idea of accepting donations for this project, but since I am not one to ask for donations I figured I could still give even more back to the community and make it so that everyone who donates gets entered in to the contest/lottery. With that money I can go and purchase a brand new wii. After I'm done doing the mod and whatever else I do I will have a name randomly selected (on video to show that it was not rigged in any way) and the name that gets drawn will get the wii.

What do you all think about that? Please vote in the poll.

Just to let everyone know I have opened up one of these wii's and softmodded it and added a wode chip. I then added the original controller ports and memory card ports. Theb loaded a gamecube iso a.d voila it worked.

The wii unmodified will spit out original gamecube discs so it will only work with hdd loading.

Also the small filter components on the 2,3 and 4 gamecube controller ports have been removed. You just have to bridge the 3.3v, 5v and data line and they all work 100%

Thought I share that bit of information.

I knew someday someone on this planet would help us with that issue! :)

Thanks man for that link. Unfortunately, I don't trust someone I don't know from some site that I've never heard of, especially when they are willing to cut corners and leave out the filter components and just bridge them instead. Kinda of a dumb move.

Honestly, if those components really weren't needed then Nintendo would have saved themselves quite a bit of money and no used them in the first place. I don't trust people who are willing to cut corners. I do in fact have all the spare parts available that I could add in and make it like it was factory. I would not settle for less.

But at least that somewhat gives me confidence that it is possible, even though I don't trust the source too much.

@DeadlyFoez Do you think the BC and MIOS are present on these Wii's?
Think?!?! THINK?!?!

It has already been proven, about forty times over. Yes I think and know. Where the hell have you been? See, we really don;t need uniformed ppl in this thread. Sorry man.
I concur. Read my thread from a few months ago on these Wii's.
EDIT: I'm willing to send in my Wii, which is a BC-less PAL Wii (I still live in Michigan though).

In my honest opinion, I think... It would be wise to have an option to offer full disc support (if it's necessary for the user, if they wish to play original NGC games and backups from disc).

I don't know... if it would be possible to do at all, but it's just an idea though.

Edit: More info; The fact is all those new wii's already have BC and MIOS installed, and if they don't then they will be install with the first retail disc with an update partition on it because those will be files present on the disc but not already installed on the wii. It does work that way.

Ok Mr. 2 posts, please explain yourself in a truly logical manner that proves me wrong on any account of what I said. I'd love to see it.

All I see is pics of the DVD drive. I don't see any pics of the motherboard before or after the mod. All I have to go by is one persons unproven account of what he did, where he even said that he took crappy shortcuts. Yeah, I am so arrogant for seeing the obvious and being skeptical about something that have no proof behind it.

Either way, it is not wrong for me to want to prove it myself and to this community here that trusts my work and opinion and that I can prove it in fact possible, and also detail every step and and show everything needed to make it happen.

i think it would cost more money to do that. cause he would have to install the drive... and of course buying one for it.

and i wish i could help you out if i was a rich mo-fo i would.

There is no doubt in my mind that Foez can deliver on everything he said, seriously, I've seen the man work and vouch for him personally. There is zero risk in Foez's proposal for anyone interested. So instead of derailing this thread, let it continue to serve its true purpose... which is to raise awareness until someone takes advantage of the sweet deal Foez is offering

Also, I forgot to add to the first post, that if I do somehow ruin your wii (which seriously won't happen), one of my wii's that I send to you in replacement will be one that natively (sp?) already has all the GC ports on it. And thanks to giantpune's punetwiin I can easily reprogram any wii and convert any nand dump to another wii, you will definitely get a working wii back. You have nothing to lose.
