I am looking at buying a gameboy SP. I have a bit of an idea of how to spot a fake cartridge but, how do you identify a fake console?

I was looking at getting something like this:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Nintendo-Game-Boy-Advance-SP-Pearl-Blue-Pokemon-Pinball-/200729264744?pt=UK_VideoGames_VideoGameConsoles_VideoGameConsoles&hash=item2ebc658268

Does anyone know what the 256MB chip would be in the above ad.

If anyone can find any other SP deals hopefully with some pokemon titles I would be very greatful.

Something like an EZFlash Advance. It'd be of little to no use as you'll never find the linker cable for it and so couldn't reflash it...believe me i've tried as i ended up with one after buying a GBA.

I actually want a legit SP with some original pokemon titles. The 256 memory thing just threw me in that advert.

Edit: can't type for shit.

Just ignore it then...i ended up with Happy Feet on mine, so consider it a lucky dip game if you decide to bid. Although i'd recommend you hunt yourself down an AGS-101 instead

Ouch the 101s are a jump in price. Looks like it is worth it though.

Yeah the screen on the 101 makes a huge difference. Going back to an older SP after playing on a backlit one just feels weird..

Spotting a clone sp is fairly easy if you know the screen dimensions and there is a good pic of the screen's border. Also the clone will be advertised with built in games.

That ezfa flashcart he has is a good deal with the whole package...if he has the link cable for it. Those flashcarts sold for $100+ back in the day. I still use mine and love it. The realtime clock has worked like a charm for all these years. Other then that the AGS-101 is the rockmaster of SPs.

Yeah I was gonna say, I remember that particular brand of red GBA flash cart but couldn't remember the name which is apparently EZFA, though I too would tend to agree that it would be better to go for an AGS-101 if you can find one. I couldn't get the graphite color at a reasonable price, so I settled on the pearl blue color. Not great, but better than pearl pink.
