LOS ANGELES (Mar. 22, 2012) – Square Enix, Inc., the publisher of SQUARE ENIX® interactive entertainment products in the Americas, announced THEATRHYTHM™ FINAL FANTASY® (pronounced “theater rhythm”) exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS™ hand-held system. This year marks the 25th anniversary of FINAL FANTASY, and THEATRHYTHM FINAL FANTASY is the first music rhythm game in the history of the world famous franchise.

Developed by rhythm game veteran indieszero, SQUARE ENIX brings more than 70 musical scores spanning 25 years to THEATRHYTHM FINAL FANTASY. The title features music from key events, lush field themes and decisive battle arrangements.

THEATRHYTHM FINAL FANTASY features a hybrid of music rhythm gameplay with RPG elements. Adorably re-designed heroes from the catalogue of FINAL FANTASY titles will set out on an adventure to combat memorable villains with the rhythmic taps of the player’s stylus. Players can:

Revisit their most cherished memories from each FINAL FANTASY title
Strive to achieve the highest ranks in the challenge mode
Collect and share “dark notes,” a random music sheet that is riddled with hidden loot within the Chaos Shrine
Seek out crystal shards to unlock hidden characters

This makes me wonder will we see an Elite Beat Agents type game for the 3DS soon.. Gotta say I loved that game :P
Rhythm Thief is kinda like Elite Beat Agents (some levels at least)
Really? I thought it was more like SpaceChannel5 or RhythmHeaven... From the demo at least the three levels were vers similar.

Dunno the first one, but it's nothing like Rhythm Heaven.

If it's like EBA, this may even be a purchase sooner than later... EBA was the only game to ever manage to scratch my InvisiShield protectors. Not really that visible, but still there :P

then your iShield is either fake or isn't as tough as some make it out to be. does it have any scratchproof guarantee or some such? maybe you can lay a claim on that...

It's original, no doubt about it (bought straight from Zagg). The "scratches" are quite near invisible, but the screen does show a certain circle when looked at with a light in the right angle. So technically it's not a scratch, but still is. I could get a replacement if I ever wanted, buy haven't bothered. The issue is only with my old DSL which has a few problems with the hardware (R-trigger is a bit loose and has bad contacts once in a while). The DSiXL/3DS/PSP-1004/PSP Go are still scratch-proof :P
