Samsung’s highly anticipated next-generation flagship smartphone has reportedly been pictured. Dutch mobile blog GSM Helpdesk on Wednesday published what it claims to be an official press photo of the Samsung Galaxy S III, obtained from an unnamed source. The site also reasserts a wide range of specs exclusively reported by BGR over the past few months, including a full HD Super AMOLED display, Android 4.0 with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI and a 1.5GHz quad-core processor. The device pictured is in line with previously leaked renders, though we can now see that Samsung appears to have opted for capacitive hardware buttons in place of the on-screen navigation buttons seen in other Android 4.0 builds. A potential date for Samsung’s announcement has been reaffirmed as well; the weather in London and the Unpacked Event calendar entry pictured on the home screen point to a May 22nd press conference in London.

Looks very pretty, a white phone is interesting. As for the fact that they have used the buttons, it is mainly tablets that have the on-screen buttons.

I'd like to think the Galaxy Nexus is the first in a line of other phones that are all screen.

Though I'd hope that they'd develop an AMOLED screen that perhaps wouldn't be affected by potential screen burn as a result.

Yeah, the design of the Galaxy Nexus is ergonomic and aesthetic.

Also we can see from the status bar that it is running android 2.3 (Gingerbread) and not Ice Cream Sandwhich the latest version of android. This fact may throw off potential buyers, obviously the phone at the top of the market and of the better looking quality is the Nexus.
The S III will run ICS; renders prior to an official release almost always have inaccuracies like that.

ICS and GB are basically the same on a phone like the Galaxy S2 since they will just put the Touchwiz over it.
That's not true at all, ICS has kernel level modifications that make it run faster as well as access to ICS apps (like Chrome), better multitasking, and all of ICS' other features. Just because Samsung overlays their skin on top of ICS doesn't mean it doesn't get ICS' features.

There was another render similar to this one that showed an ICS touchwiz screen. Furthermore, the rendered screen on the OP was taken from a PR image for last year's Galaxy S II unpacked event.

There is also a picture rumored to show the SIII, it doesn't have buttons.

You know, after being a *loyal* buyer of Samsung phones for quite some time, I feel like switching over to HTC. Samsung just feels... quite dull.

Man, One X looks good.
