Homebrew Neek2o and new wii not working together

Well, i got a new wii and i can't hack it as the diskdrive in my old one broke like a month after that, and my parents don't believe in coincidences. So i ran modmii to do the abstinence mode with Joostin helping me, but now we are at a stand still. On the old wii, if i launch casper via HBC it works fine, however when it comes to the new wii i click on letterbomb, loads the casper screen and then it just restarts itself. What i thought was the problem at first was the serial number as modmii won't accept a KU number and that is what the wii has, but Joostin made me a setting.txt with my SN in it and it still didn't work. Then Joostin gave me a new bootmii_ios.bin but that still didn't work, so we are at a lost and he asked for me to ask for help here. I have a brand new wii with serial number KU61 SM 4.3, t he one with no gamecube ports. I ran casper using letterbomb, and that works but when it gets to casper it just restarts, after showing the casper screen.

Have you tried to run the bootmii "armboot.bin" renamed as "bootmii_ios.bin"?

It should bring you to the bootmii screen giving you the option to backup the wii nand chip.
If it works, it proves that the problem is with neek2o.
If it doesn't work, the problem could be with Casper itself.

What version of neek2o are you trying to launch that way? What nand are you using?
Is it a backup of your real nand or a modmii created nand?

Will this JUST bring up the screen or will it write anything to the NAND? we got an extended warranty on it and don't want to void it, hence the abstinence guide. If it works on the old wii, why won't it work on the new wii?

What version of neek2o are you trying to launch that way? What nand are you using?
Is it a backup of your real nand or a modmii created nand?

I think it's version 75. Modmii created nand, with setting.txt created by Joostin since it wouldn't accept the serial number, to try and solve the problem.

It will just bring up the screen. It won't write to the nand unless you would select that option.
Even then, you would need to enter the konami code on a gc controller.
Since you can't connect a gc controller, this won't happen.
Casper is a pretty new program. Not many people have used the abstinence guide yet, so there could be a problem with new wii's. If this is the case, it's important to know where it comes from.

The serial number in setting.txt is important to get networking going and to make the shopping channel work. It shouldn't give other problems.

I don't want to be rude, but the version you think you are having is not important. The one you are having is. Did you try uneek2o rev. xx or sneek2o rev. xx?

I picked uneek + di on the wizard for the second time, just uneek the first time, for the version i picked the one on the top of the list, which is 75. Wii is in use, and i will get back to you when it is not. Let me know if there is a different version number somewhere

Ok. That rev. 75 should be fine. It will report in it's overlay menu as rev. 72, but that's because I forgot to update it.

Have you tested your harddisk and are you sure it works under a neek setup? Specially the 32KB cluster size is important.

Bootmii screen did not open up, just rebooted after the casper screen.

You have an sd card prepared to use the mailbomb. On that card, you also have:

bootmii/armboot.bin
bootmii/ppcboot.elf
bootmii/bootmii.ini

you also have bootmii_ios.bin on the root of the sd card which is a copy of the bootmii/armboot.bin file.
When you run the mailbomb, you see some text showing casper starting up. After that, the wii simply reboots?
I would like to know which sd card you are using? Is there anything else connected to the wii like an usb drive or other usb device?

I am trying to get the complete picture in the hope that giantpune will jump in with usefull tips.
Maybe there is a way to get some debugging information from casper.

Basically, if you have the material, you could try another sd card. Casper has 2 revisions.
One accepts command line parameters, and the other doesn't. You could try the other one.
If you have an exploitable game that works on the 4.3 system menu, you could try that to launch casper.

This are just random ideas. I might try to run things in abstinence mode, but since my wii is old and already modded,
I don't think the result will be the same. If it wouldn't work either, it would bring us a step further.

I didn't reinstall priiloader to have the system as close to retail as possible. I have bootmii installed as ios 254, but that shouldn't make a difference.

My card was a micro sd 2 gig sandisk as well.

I have my old wii still, it has bootmii as boot 2 so i can uninstall everything but that, and fully update it if you want me to test it on a 4.3U with as close to retail as we can get, and with my current setup as for SD card and usb drive.

Removing bootmii ios 254 from the nand doesn't make a difference. Everything still works.

It's not on 4.3 already, its on 4.1 and casper does work when i launch it from HBC the nand loads. i was thinking of ohneswhartznegger a 4.3 stock nand and installing that, if that doesn't uninstall my boot 2 bootmii. That way the only modifications already on it is my bootmii, but i don't think a boot 2 modification would change it. Where is the download of ohneswanzenegger at, if you want me to try this.

I wonder if you could use crediar's FSDumper from the google svn sneek page to backup the nand of the new wii. You might try to launch it with letterbomb.
Analysing that dump with showmiiwads could show differences with a normal wii 4.3U nand.

Mutliupload is dead, which is what the links are. I found another post somewhere else with it on it, will FSDumper modify the system in any way which Nintendo will beable to tell? They got a 2 year warranty and i don't want to void it.

I understand your warranty issue. To my knowledge, FSDumper only reads from the wii nand. So, Ninty can't detect that you ran that application.

FSDumper uses a fakesigned ticket/TMD to gain superuser access, it is detectable.
