For the better part of three decades multidisciplinary artist Guy Laramee has worked as a stage writer, director, composer, a fabricator of musical instruments, a singer, sculptor, painter and writer. Among his sculptural works are two incredible series of carved book landscapes and structures entitled Biblios and The Great Wall, where the dense pages of old books are excavated to reveal serene mountains, plateaus, and ancient structures.

That's cool but I really have to wonder how someone just decides to carve a book into sculptures one day.
You gotta be pretty damn bored to come to such a conclusion.

I guess I should have mentioned that the guy is a sculptor. It would have gone a little towards explaining how come he decided to carve something into a sculpture.

Ah it actually says that in your post, lol.
I was just half asleep when I read and posted. Still...carving books. Even as a sculptor that's a weird choice.
Good results though, damn.

Not going to lie, that's pretty impressive. Of course, if he had used the works of Stephen King, he would only need a single book for each sculpture.

I'm a little torn on this one, it seems a shame to destroy one artform to create another, but those are pretty damn impressive.
